My grandfather used to shoot people in the ass with rock salt from his shotgun when they tried to sneak into his farm. Most of them were teens trying to steal chickens or tip over cows. oOo:

Later on he moved to the city, and one time he shot down a kids kite with his shotgun and ran back into the house laughing like a madman. biggrin:

sorry homeslice, for a close quarters combat situtation Id much rather have a shotgun that a rifle. Point and shoot down a darkened hallway and you will hit what you want with the shotgun but hitting a subject in the dark with a rifle would be a lucky shot. I also have choices when it comes to this and Id grab the shotgun before my pistols or rifles

I rather have an m60 than a shotgun. More fun.

Since I'm not too bad a shot I'd pick pistol, preferrably large caliber like .45ACP or the .50AE,
shotgun scatters = damage to house
rifle may overpenetrate = more damage to house

pistol slugs are perfect since the badguy becomes a bullet sponge and you don't have to shoot for distances greater than 25 yards.

I would keep a airsoft ( gas powered ) and if some1 comes in my house i point it at them they get scared lol.
