I made a wallpaper for the contest on the official site, but the fuckers never posted it for voting. Bastiches...heh. Probably just as well, as it was a bit of a rush job to get it in before the deadline.
Anyway, here's the 800x600 version: |

there we go! if only i could find out how to make bloody words :( cry:
|
Zee blood is done by using a deepish red colour with the paintbrush or custom grunge brushes. Slap on some red and change the layer style to "Color Burn". You may want to adjust the brightness and contrast to get the amount of "dirt" or darkness in the blood effect.
Add some motion blur to smudge some areas and voila. Plasma and platelets everywhere. biggrin: |
thats awsome zoner ed:

Another method for randomized blood is to make some clouds, then do difference clouds on top of it a few times. Color it red and set it to color burn (or linear burn, overlay, etc. depending on what you have). Then make a layer mask > reveal all. Then, do clouds and difference clouds on the layer mask. Adjust the brightness and contrast of the mask and the blood and you should end up with something like the blood layer I used here. This was a 5 minute job.
