There are still all those other teenage angst bands like Disturbed and Spineshank and stuff. Killing off Slipknot would just make them more mad at the world. eek:

He's pretty good, but I think one or both of the guitar players were guitar instructors so I think they'd be good enough to play pretty much anything or with anybody. Guitar is HARD believe me, I've tried. If you can pull something resembling music from those things you've got my respect.

I find it just a little telling that these groups well into their 30's are still hung up on teen-angst. I mean I had angst as a teen but if I had Mr Peabodys way-back machine Id kick my ass and tell myself to get the fuck over it.

Im down with that. Teach out youth the value of pimping, smack'n suckah bitches down, and how to serve a drive-by.

You're SOOOO right. Though, joey jordison (the drummer) is easily the most talented member in the band. But they're all good.
Out of current drummers, joey is EASILY number 2, right behing Portnoy

Nick Barker (fomer Dimmu Borgir and Old Man's Child drummer) was pretty fucking amazing. Some of the best I've ever heard.

I wonder why he left Dimmu...

ShagNasty 05-06-2004 01:15 PM

I think I read that Neil Pert fav drummer was John Bonham.

Zoner 05-06-2004 01:17 PM

They would've been touring and recording around the same time (early/mid 70s).

Nothing's to say that your fave drummer couldn't have been a contemporary colleague, I s'pose.

No it was gonna be a link to a STFU picture since you're one of the few on here who cant discern frivolity and flippancy from fact.

Oh I can discern it, but in your case I just don’t like you.

Fireal 05-06-2004 03:49 PM

Growing up, being a drummer since 4, being about 11 years. My influences were:

NOTE: Not saying these are the most talented drummers on the planet, just where i drew my influences.

1. Mitch Mitchell of the Jimi Hendrix experiance
2. Stewart Copeland of The Police
3. Neil Piert of Rush
4. Bill Ward of Black Sabbath

In no particular order

I guess my interviews with rush I read where they said Zeppelin was their early and biggest influences was wrong my bad. Shit some guy’s web site knows more than the band them selves.

Fireal 05-06-2004 04:15 PM

Rush- Anthem is the best song they ever did.

I dont give who the fuck influenced them, that is one amazing song.
