aren't you just out of HS?
those things are like $35000 and you don't seem like the spoiled brat type

anyway, looks alright and it promises to be helluva fast; should eat most cars alive.

Short Hand 05-22-2004 10:36 PM

comp chomp on gas n*****

Arkan 05-22-2004 10:41 PM

Don't like them at all. It looks like a Cavalier to me.
They should've incorporated a hood tach and scoop, retro headlamps & tail lamps. If that car comes with a "rice wing", then that'll be the deal buster!

The car looks nothing like a GTO......looks like any ordinary car on the road...i'm not impressed.

JBird 05-22-2004 10:46 PM

i havent seen one on the road yet, but what ive seen from those samuel l jackson commercials...i must say im unimpressed with the car's styling. to me it looks like a grand prix molded just a tad differently. a gto has to have muscle, not curves like a trendy midsize sedan imo. the gto in xxx, now thats a gto rock:

pontiac should have took a tip from ford and styled the new one much like ford has retro-styled the new mustang. someone post a pic of that silver shelby cobra 2006, its so bad ass. its not out yet though (obviously)

Old Reliable 05-22-2004 10:47 PM

Short Hand 05-22-2004 11:01 PM

intrestedviewer 05-22-2004 11:03 PM

It's like 32 grand but I plan on buying it in a couple of years, most likely after my first deployment. By then I'm hoping when I buy it used it will drop 10 grand or so and I'll get it for 20-22 grand. I'll be saving ALL my cash, hehe biggrin:

My descion is not final but I would like either the Pontiac GTO, Ford Mustang or even an Mitsibushi Ecplise (new models suck, i'll go with a older one and fix her up). There was a possibility of me getting a Chevy S10 low-rider but damn... it looks like i'm going with a smaller car due to the price of gas.

it looks nothing like the old version. man why do they have to fuck up the old kick ass muscle cars?

Bane 05-23-2004 08:51 AM

I think GM fucked up big time by lying and calling a Grand Prix with a V8 the GTO. They should take a lesson from Ford on how to retro-style a vehicle. The new Mustang, GT40 and Cobra are all very nicely done. This new GTO is a disgrace to the muscle car it's named after.

Other than that I'm sure it's a very nice car. I'd drive it.

For 32 grand I guarentee you are going to see alot of these on the road. It does no disgrace to "muscle" cars at all, the fact you take so much offence to it all puzzles me a lot. oOo:

Bane 05-24-2004 12:58 AM

There's no real thought put into it. It was originally a car produced by GM in Australia if I remember right. They swap the badges and call it a GTO? It makes me worry for the fate of the Camaro.

Short Hand 05-24-2004 09:49 AM

hopefully they will re badge the impala put a new engine in and call it a camaro.

HellI would kill for the Ford Tierra RS 2.0 to come here from over their, It the type of car that would give most civics a domestic beating.

What?

Id kill to see another camaro that wasnt retro styled, wasnt overly modern looking and its standard engine was an ls6 for a base price of 30k

The gto looks like balls but its got a sweet ride and an even better engine, My uncle almost bought one. Id love to test drive it
