1000 years from now.

This is meant to be a hypothetical type of thread. What do you think we will be in 1000 years? Will we die out? Will we colonize other planets? Will we have a nuclear war and anhialate ourselves? It is interetsing to think about the types of weapons, vechicles, etc we will have in 1000 years. I think colonizing other planets is a pretty safe bet. May even go in search of life in other planets, solar systems, etc. So, what say you?

Merlin122 06-13-2004 04:13 PM

nothing will change. badscript will be a brain floating in a jar still running this site. we'll all be dead though

lol.

Akuma 06-13-2004 04:19 PM

Human race will destroy its self and most of nature. But some simple organisms will live and evolve, creating the world over again. But that won't happen for a couple million years.

So in 1000 years: The earth will be nothing but a smoldering crader after the nuclear holocoast.

Neo Nazi Hitler 06-13-2004 04:19 PM

since nuclear weapons have only been around for like 50 years (?)... And we've had like 3 nuke scares already? atleast? Imagine how many we can expect in the next 1000. I predict nuclear destruction.

Duke_of_Ray 06-13-2004 04:24 PM

Your right its not!

Madmartagen 06-13-2004 04:32 PM

I think a nuclear war is inevitable. But I think the world powers are aware of the consequences of such a war, meaning that the war will occur as a result of a noob nuclear nation. Space travel will definately be a more common option in our lives, but I think it will be much sooner than 1000 years. I cant really see that far ahead, but I can see what I just said in the next 200 years or so.

intrestedviewer 06-13-2004 04:38 PM

Well computer technology will be so advanced we will have perfected Ai by then. If we are still alive that is. Im assuming there would be some kind of major conflict because of technology some time in the future that will reshape our path.

Jotun 06-13-2004 04:43 PM

why are you making these crappy threads?

SoLiDUS 06-13-2004 04:49 PM

now, people will be sex0ring and eating popcorn to my great movie, made by
one Stevenoff Spielbergstein. It will win the Milky Way Galaxy movie awards!

Inertia 06-13-2004 05:51 PM

I'll take a shot at this...lol

Space Travel and Inhabitation:

I think that we should see multiple space stations, planet and moon bases, mining and resource gathering colonies throughout the solar system.
Travel between them will be quick, inexpensive and safe. I have no doubt that commercial and civillian owned and operated business' will be at the front of the travel and research leading to the technology that makes these things possible.

Exterestrial research and exploration will take mankind beyond the solar system and into the deep reach of space.

New technologies including alternate fuel sources, medical breakthroughs, fiber and metal chemistry improvements, and Atmosphere reproduction will make life in space and beyond earth not only possible but enjoyable and pleasing. In fact travel and colonization in space will be treated as a bonus or vacation opertunity for famillies and explorers.

Earth:

The world will be united under a new order of government that resembles nothing of today. Stay with me here.... While each country retains it's own internal government and laws, order, courts, ect, there will be a council or unified governing body to handle civil rights, conflicts, economies, and world order.
I would expect there would be a population law and no presence of nuclear or biological weapons on a mass scale.

Every day life would be quite similar to today, we would get up in the mornings and go to work, come home, have kids, eat dinner ,ect. Automobles will be greatly improved using a new form of fuel and be 100% eviromentally friendly. Our homes will be filled with new appliances and methods of relaxation and entertainment.

The enviroment will be quite the same as it is today. New fuels and methods of production will cut pollution to vertually none, and recycling will be easy and conveinent fro everyone. Trees, parks, rivers, and oceans will remain clean and will be in better shape than they are now.

Undersea colonies, Artic colonies, and Air travel will all be improved and use technology developed for Space.

Evolution:

Skin pigmentation will begin to blend and form a single color. While it will only have been 33 generations the first signs of a single colored human race will be obvious.
The human brain capacity will grow to new levels and worldwide IQ will improve. More of the human brain will be understood and some old mysteries will be solved.

Disease and illness will still be present, but medical advances will eliminate many of the worst ailments of today, to include AIDS, most Cancers, and nearly all neuralogical illness' like Parkansins(sp?).

Many "old-world" animals will become extinct to the wild as human population and growth fills the planet. Animals incapible of survival in the wild will be bread and survived in zoos, DNA storage facillities, and special reserved parks.
As we cover the whole of our own planet ancient animals will be discovered in the darkest corners of the planet...ie: living dinosaurs, giant sea animals, and other creatures from before and around the Ice Age.

.....thats all I can muster at the moment, lol

Neo Nazi Hitler 06-13-2004 06:15 PM

zen, time to read a book, stop writing them biggrin:

Fireal 06-13-2004 06:38 PM

Day after tommorow, although a horrible, crappy ass movie, it may come true in a thousand years. If an Ice Age has happened once, maybe more times, than its very possible for it to happen again

descry 06-13-2004 06:55 PM

we will get messages from the voyager 2 from aliens telling us how to biuld a space ship which in the end destroys us all ....

Yes, that or nuclear destruction.

Either way, I predict that we will destroy ourselves; that we will be the ones causing our own race's depletion.

Infection_Smith@ 06-14-2004 04:26 AM

I read a article that al lthe developed nations' societies will decay away and the less devloped society will grow in the future. It explains the concept of evolution will apply to human beings and their society.
Survival of the fittest is not the strongest and enduring but the most adaptive. Anyways I have a feeling that great strike in technological achievemnts will come at a cost. Society will deteriorate. People will become more and more oblvious. Mars will inhabitated densely but light travel will not be invented. I think it will be impossible for humans to create an engine that is capable of doing such a thing. Of course new ideologies and factions will rise. There will always be conflicts, perhaps not on earth but between planets over resources in the solar system. Drugs and prostitution will go rampart, any sense of morality, religion and community will be abolished as humans influence expand througout space. Humans will ever improve methods of killing others efficiently until the entire infastructure of man kind will implode.

Art Attack 06-14-2004 10:20 AM

Sloi in 1000 years you'll still be a body building priest and a park way stalker, lol

I haven't read any of the posts but the first one so if I repeat something, sorry.

I think in about 400 years we will all die. It's predicted that if this [I can't remember] volcano erupts, the whole Island with break apart and float away and will hit the East Coast flooding most of the East Coast in the USA. I think the O-Zone will be destroyed and many other nature disasters. If we ever make it to a futuristic economy [like in 5th element] people will get power hungry and start launching bombs and such. Thats my opinion.

Well let's see, you nuke the island and it creates a big ass title wave. Which would wipe out even more than predicted.

geRV 06-15-2004 09:45 AM
