Eye Surgery
 

Man, I am afraid my bad eye sight is going to hurt me again. I was looking at the requirments for Air Force Security Forces, and it said you needed vision correctable to 20/20 in one eye, and 20/30 in the other. Do glasses do this? How much do Glasses correct your vision? Also waht about that Eye Surgery? Anybody here have it done? I heard you have to be 21 though to get it done. My eye sight is terrible, maybe the USAF will pay for the surgery. annoy:

eye sight is overated.

maybe i shouldnt tell u this cause it would be pretty funny to see you go through with the surgery and then not get into the AF, but i dont think you can join the USAF if you had corrective eye surgery. That was one of the questions i asked the recruiter. Just get glasses.

glasses do correct vision to 20/20 if u get correct precription. my vision is
20/70 20/50 or mabey worse. my glasses broght it up 2 20/20 i think.
and, no i dont constently wear them, only for watching tv or reading far away stuff.

glasses can do anything for ur eyes...they can correct any vision

i applied for the army last year but they rejected me b/c of eyes, despite having apssed all of the other tests with flying colours.... so i'm getting LASIK in July!!!!

All that means is you have to be able to see 20/20 somehow. Most of the time that is glasses. So if glasses make you see 20/20, then there shouldn't be a problem. You don't need surgery.

yeah, when you're in the Eye doctors, recall that they get you to read the lines that have "20/20" out next to em. 20/20 means that you can read a certian size text at 20 feet. (or smaller closer, I guess. If the perscription is right, glasses should fix it perfect rock:

Well I hope I can just get glasses, and then become an AF Secuirty Forces Member so I could beat the living dookie out of any of you AA.com members trying to enter MY base!

Why are you asking us? Do yourself a favor and see a professional. Go have your eyes examined and talk over the alternatives with a doctor, not a bunch of internet gamers.

Jesus christ, your lenses must be 2 inchs thick. I wear glasses, some of the time. Mostly Contacts. My vision is near perfect though. I had a lazy eye when i was a kid, and its been about to be perfectly straight for a few years. But never budges anymore.

Plus I would be sexy in my uniform!

gah. people with that bad of eyes suck. Although, you do keep my mom in buisness. So w/e everyone stare at the sun or put sand in your eyes. I need the money.
Lasik reverses itself after a while and eventually you will need it repaired again. glasses are an optional temporary way to fix your eyes. Id just get glasses. And ones you join the servies they give you those kick ass black thick rimmed ones.
