elstatec 07-02-2004 07:48 PM

imported_Grim_Reaper 07-02-2004 08:05 PM

i havent seen it yet, looks like a waste of money.

Maplegyver 07-02-2004 08:06 PM

doc oc looks 1337 though

Coleman 07-02-2004 08:45 PM

I saw it at 2am in a private showing and I loved it. THe only complaint that I can give is how they set it up for the third movie. The third movie will be very limited and almost too predictable in the plot.

I agree, I loved it, but there was one thing I didnt like. Spiderman had all of these groupies following hime around, but he didnt hit any of it.

Haven't seen it yet. Heard it was really cheesy in the script and with some effects.

Dragonwraith 07-02-2004 10:05 PM

doc oc's charecter wasn't fleshed out very well. all he really did was crawl on building and toss webhead around alot meh.

as for priming part 3 if they really pull off 3 villans (hobgoblin, Venom and Carnage) it could be interesting. The casting rumours revolve around Vin Diesel (sorry zoner) and The Rock as Eddie Brock and Sam Rockwell

Maplegyver 07-02-2004 10:07 PM

how can the rock be venom? oOo:

SoLiDUS 07-02-2004 10:09 PM

I agree with everything Ebert had to say about Spiderman 2: it had what
many recent movies lack: depth. The characters were well written, action
scenes, well designed and it just seemed to handle transitions better than
the first. Very good movie...

Milla 07-02-2004 10:30 PM

It was a little slow, thats my only complaint, other than that 5 out of 5

Pick Axe 07-02-2004 10:56 PM

I might see it this weekend. I don't know.

Pyro 07-02-2004 11:49 PM

Didn't the end revolve around Doc Connors? And the JJs son that is an astronaut going up into space and coming back with the symbiod suit that later brock uses to becomvenom is just the cartoon, the comics had spiderman go up for something called secret wars and he came back with it.

RaNgeR 07-02-2004 11:59 PM

you read comics? oOo:

Fireal 07-03-2004 01:45 AM

I think theres 2 diff. versions of it. One where Parker gets JJ's son out of the rocket, and the symbiod gets on Parker. After a while, it leaves for Brock instead. (Can't remember how or when.) And the other with the Secret Wars thing.

wintersforge 07-03-2004 09:03 AM

Carnage was a skinny mentally deranged psycho in the comics(the host Cletus Cassidy). They shouldnt cast a muscle bound oaf for the part...Venom on the other hand they need to if they want to maintain any type of integrity and continuity with the comics. I think they will tone it down though to get a pg-13 rating...cause Carnage was all about the killing and bloodshed in the comics.

Post Secret Wars symbiote story arc was one of the best in the Spidey Mythology and served to create 2 memorable characters...maybe ill scan in the first appearances of all 3 (Carnage/Venom/smybiote) if i remember...

I dont think they will hose up the CGI aspect of the symbiote. I imagine a T2/T3 liquid type CGI since the symbiote was very malleable and would pulse and move in a liquid manner...

GG ankle socks happy:

I saw the movie last night and I liked it. I only saw the first one only one time so it looks like I have to see that one again. What I liked in this movie was there was alot more fist fighting action. Toby plays a good spiderman, and J.K Simmons plays an even better Jonah Jameson; hes a total pile of shit, its great.
