Heavy duty cooling system?

I'll take bets its a aluminum cooler happy:

Sergeant_Scrotum 07-11-2004 08:18 PM

why did you buy 2 dvd drives?! oOo:

strvs 07-11-2004 08:19 PM

Nice Rig, but i would have topped it off with an FX5900

[quote="Sergeant_Scrotum":7776e]why did you buy 2 dvd drives?! oOo:[/quote:7776e]Maybe so he can read the DVD and burn it at the same time..Only i dont think they can do that... oOo:

Feck if I know.. that was just the base system. And I've never worried about a cooling system prior, so any cooling system is probably better than I would've chosen - which would be none at all.

Also, I looked for an upgrade to the FX5900 and there wasn't one available.

Ferich 07-11-2004 08:21 PM

They can read all disc types + DVD, so why the hell not?

Jotun 07-11-2004 08:22 PM

ahahahaha. my friend just built a computer that is SO much better than that for $700, that included a Logitech MX510 and Senheissers (sp?)

good try though. beer:

I definitely don't have the time to build a computer, let alone the knowledge, or the time to acquire the knowledge.

As far as I've ever seen, for a computer being built by a company, this is pretty good.

yea, it is good for being built by a company.

not to mention it took him weeks to get it working because his old hard drive had a major problem with the new comp. (he used his old hard drive and monitor, cuts the cost). the actual building of the comp took one night, the troubleshooting of the hard drive problem took him about a week to figure out. but now that he get it runnings its a fucking monster.

Not real sure, but like i've said in other threads, I'm not a real performance freak. I just want a computer that gets it done.

1- Get rid of the 5.1 and purchase an Audigy2.

2- Get rid of the Modem. I won't discuss this. Do it young man!

Otherwise, it looks nice. I'm surprised at your choice of cpu though. AMD is
the way to go unless you have serious number crunching to do...

fujimi7su 07-12-2004 01:22 AM

Not bad... but not great either especially not for 1300

your forgetting that it comes w/ a monitor probably too, so its not THAT bad of a deal.

anyways.. cheaper is custom but not a bad rig... i would toss another 512 and a new video card in it tho.

AMD pwns Intel
ATI pwns nvidia

thank you god. i keep telling everyone ATI > nvidea, but they are all ga-ga over their geforces, fuck nvidea they suck.

I plan on upgrading the video card, but since they didn't have an upgrade to a 5900 available, I'm just going to wait until HL2 is released and get whatever is current then. The 5600 can more than handle the games I'm playing now, considering my 5200 on a 1.5ghz does rock:

Whatever is current then will prolly be PCI-E...it wont fit oOo: You'll need a 6800U or whatever is top of the line for AGP
