Okay I guess this will be the best way to go since I have lost touch with whats on the market now.


Could somebody tell me what to get for 600$ or less to be a pretty good gaming machine. I just need the PC, tell me the parts please so I can buy em and fix it myself. Have at it you sexy AA.com guys!

Shuttle an35n ultra 400+ - 50 bucks
1024 of any DDR - 160 bucks
9800pro - 200 bucks

Change the mobo to a Abit NF7-S and make sure you get PC3200 RAM. Getting a Mobile chip the path you'll probaly want to take, they OC like mad.

Couldn't some of you guys in the Texas and surrounds area git together an' hold a pc raisin' for

Get OCZ LL rams...And i dont think 1024mb of any good ram is gonna cost 160..Try 350+ oOo:

my pc is has 2500+ and an35n and ocs fine, so does graves, and the other two pcs w/ the same mobo.. much better for the price.

ive seen many, many problems with the NF7-s despite the good talk about it.

anyways, if you arent a total retard, your better off getting 1gb of good crucial or samsung ram for 160-180 than paying the same for one stick of good 512

honestly timings make very little noticable difference.

AN35N boards own. I have 3 of em.

DON'T get a 2400+. Get a Barton 2500+ and you can OC it to a 3200+ usually with even stock cooling. I don't have any experience with the mobiles...but they are supposed to run nicely so it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it.

Get all your stuff from http://www.newegg.com. They kick ass.

2400+ will overclock just about as well or the same as 2500

All of the above points are null and void seeing as you can get a mobile for about the same OR LESS money and OC it to ~2.4ghz biggrin:

24/25/26 hundred chips are basically the same

most locked 2500s will overclock fine to 3200 so a mobile really isnt necessary, but no point in not grabbing one.

built and ready to use for 688$$. Is that worth it? Im not really wanting to build this myself. It seems better thab anything else I have found. Also how hard is it to OC?

What kind of RAM? What video card? What motherboard? Is it a AthlonXP or an AthlonXP Mobile? Depending on those, it may or may not be a good deal.


Still probaly cheaper to build it yourself.

Ram is pC 3200 (or is there some PC 3300?) that is suppose to be good with a lifetime warrenty.

The video card is a Roswell or something like that. Alos what the differance between a Mobile and the regular Mother Board? I really don't want to build it myself.

Also how hard is it to OC a AMD?

Go into BIOS and bump up the FSB and maybe some voltages. That's all there is to it.


Most Mobiles can hit 2200mhz(3200+ speeds) with out raising the vCore(voltage on the cpu).

roswell isnt enough ... ask what model the video card is, rest looks finel.
