My FULL Doom III review
 

I've played quite a bit now and I have the following things to say:

Graphics

Amazing. Nothing short of breath-taking...
When shit hits the fan, you'll be freaked OUT.

Sound

Excellent positional audio and use of ambient effects to heighten
claustrophobia and tension. You won't want to be alone playing...

Gameplay

Nothing extraordinary but executes everything very well. The PC
interfaces work nicely and even though the gunning is repetitious,
it never gets boring AT ALL.

Overall

Highly recommended game. You will NOT be disappointed.

What system are u running it on, what settings do you have it on, and does it lag or slow down at all? How scary is it?

I'm playing on headphones and the positional sound seems to be fucked up. I don't know what the problem is. oOo:

Edit: I fixed it by changing the "Reverse channels" setting.

I'm playing on 1024x768 - HIGH detail with little to no slowdown. Overall
very smooth. My hardware:

A64 3000+
KV8 MAX 3
1GB Corsair
Radeon 9800 Pro (128MB)
Audigy2 ZS (has no impact on sound though because it's all done by engine)

Pump up the settings judas, I thought my system would have started to choke at 1024x768 on "high", but it plays it fine.

Maybe I've been playing this kind of stuff before but no real scares yet. . .I'm more suprised than scared when the zombies pop out of the shadows, which I think is a nice touch. The game is VERY claustorphobic and running around I felt like I was honestly getting lost.

The shotgun is sweet - nothing better than disentigrating your former buddies.

Best moment of the game so far:

Right now I'm running at medium settings and 1024xwhatever. Not bad a little slow but only noticeable to geeks.

You know what I like to do ? Knock people with my flashlight: you can take
care of them (they'll disintegrate) without wasting ammunition.

As for best moment so far... I agree. Shit hitting the fan :)

Wish I wouldve known this before wasting my shells on fat-zombies. Dunno what the "licker"-type monster is though, pretty sweet. Like having to get in CLOSE to take care of it.

Im just hauling ass abck to the base at the minute, some of the cutscenes are damn nice looking like when you first see the fire imp, had some zombie attacking me and it got in the way of his fireball and evaporated in flames. happy:

I think anyone that played this game will agree, screenshots no matter how good they look do it no justice, the way the game moves the atmosphere the lighting. When the invasion starts and you're starting to fight the zombies you;re just on edge, some areas are just pitch black and you're almost reluctant to put away your shotgun and take the flashlight out. Im loving it so far and ive only played it for about 20 minutes so the shit hasn;t hit the fan yet. ed:

I hate running out of ammo, ill try the flashlight... im tired of pistoling giant zombies and fist fighting others... :(

damn this is a hard game... especially on my way -to-dark monitor.... i have windows, montior, and IG brightness cranked, and its still wayyy darker than the screenshots show... :(
