movies fucked up by sequels and so on

shit, i was watching tv yesterday, and i saw 'ghostbusters: the animated series'. they have a cripple as a ghost buster, wtf. it ruined the movie. then, i turned on BET to see an ad for 'undercover brother:the animated series' as if that movie wasn't horrible enough. but sometimes, te animated whatever is better, take batman and the recent batman movies (not the 1337 oldschool ones). theyre better. anyone want to list anything theyve seen thats been dragged out until its long dead and not funny/interesting anymore?

descry 09-15-2004 09:40 AM

the third ninja turtles, the seccond one was pretty cool.

Zoner 09-15-2004 09:41 AM

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed that movie when I was in high school.

The sequel was mediocre, but the cartoon was fucking HORRID!

Tystnad 09-15-2004 11:47 AM

Starship troopers Zwei... annoy:

TonyMontana 09-15-2004 12:17 PM

rush hour 1 was much more funnier than rush hour 2

I liked the sequel far better than the original.....simply because of Death. His character made that movie a fucking brilliant classic.

WZF VIC!? Rush Hour 2 was funnier IMO....

James Carter : Couldn't help noticin' how she was staring at a brother.

Lee : She never even looked at you.

James Carter : You just jealous, Lee, 'cause women like me. I'm tall, dark and hansome and you third world ugly.

Lee : I am not third world ugly, women think I'm cute. Like Snoopy.

James Carter : Man, Snoopy is 6 inches taller than you.

James Carter : [Snatching away a Chinese gangster's towel and looking at him naked] No wonder you mad!

Lee : Let me tell you something about Asians, we never panic.

James Carter : Oh yeah, when Godzilla be coming, y'all be trippin': "Giaca! Giaca!"

James Carter : Don't be messing with me, Lee. I will kick your ass. I'll hit you so hard you'll end up in the Ming Dynasty.

Sgt. Paine 09-15-2004 01:21 PM

the sandlot sequel will suck doo doo.

Zen 09-15-2004 01:37 PM

Disney is notorious for failing in the sequel department, though I don't think many of you would care to much about children's films.
They have attempted to create sequels to classic films as well as "modern" classics and have yet to suceed beyond Toy Story 2... which after all was a Disney funded Pixar film.

descry 09-15-2004 01:39 PM

like the aladin (sp?) sequels

Machette 09-15-2004 01:39 PM

i dont know, imo i think theyre both pretty equal.

Pyro 09-15-2004 06:06 PM

matrix

Id say the two best sequels to improve on the original were the LOTR series (which shouldn't count cuz they were all filmed at the same time) Star wars empire strikes back and terminator 2.

Apocalypse | NoW 09-15-2004 06:26 PM

I love Star Wars.

Alien was alot better then aliens.

Why ?

-Ridley Scott effectively used shadow, mood etc.. In genral you never saw
the alein much, so the mood this built was amazing. You were scared shitless at the unknown like the crew was.Notice how Jason films are alot scarier when the people don't notice yet what is chasing them/ or that they are even being chased ? Not seeing the alien was amazing. Scared me my first ride well. I also beleive Alien Ressurection is one of the most underated films. It was pretty good. Gritty charecters, Not so crisp a storyline or ending, but the charecters were really memorable & great to watch.

I enjoyed the revolutions action. (a lot of people think the Wachowski Bro.s stole their idea, thus why the sequls were complete crud.

Apocalypse | NoW 09-15-2004 06:37 PM

I also liked Revolutions.

rock: Cant wait till episode 3. My favorite sequal of all time, although it is very close is Star Wars ROTJ. great movie.

Jotun 09-15-2004 08:40 PM

the new Star Wars are shit.

Jurassic Park....Lost World wasnt terrible, in fact i liked more of the scenes with the raptors, but JP3 was just sooo bad. Not worth my time.

Only movie I really liked and the sequels didnt make me hate the first one was Blade, i actually liked the second one. The third one looks corny, but ya never know.

Xorcist [USA] 09-15-2004 09:42 PM

Sequels that suck in no particular order becasue they all suck:

Caddyshack II

Smokey and the Bandit II

Jaws: The Revenge

Godfather II

Halloween II, H20

How does that explain why its a better film? All you did was explain the technique used in the first film.

True, i love movies with a fantasy like story having wierd fantasy like characters to go with it, a lot of times the characters dont look like they belong in the story

texas chansaw massacre 2, 3 & the new one (tcm: the next generation, with renee zelweger and matthew mcconeghey is golden)

i think x2 was just as good as xmen

batman returns was as good as batman, but everything after that is complete worthless shit...im embarassed to go to a school where part of batman forever was taped (cathedral of learning, where something happened with the riddler)

tremors sequels, even though all of the movies were horrendous shit stains

a lot of horror movie sequels are shitty and are either a joke for thier cult following or a low budget horrible mistake

the 2 newest star wars suck.

Madmartagen 09-16-2004 11:43 PM

sequels usually suck...

latest star wars
alien 3 and resurection
resident evil apocalypse
ghostbusters 2
batman after michael keaton
matrix 2 and 3
max payne 2

udetingo 09-16-2004 11:44 PM

it was a POS pure and simple..shitty story, lines were gay, every situation was predictable and stupid, wasnt scary at all, felt more like a evil corporation conspiracy film than about zombies or the undead.
