the hell i went threw to get hl2
 

go to best buy pick it up get home, noticed it was opened before, no cd #1. go back to best buy get another 1 it was opened but checked had all the cds. get home invalde cd key. god damn punk kids, it said to send in picture of reciept, cd key and the cd and wait up too 2 weeks for a reply. took it back got a 3rd witch works. i bet best buy puts the bad cd key back on the shelf.

Well, why don't you looks for an unopened box in the first place? That would have saved you a lot of trouble. oOo:

everytime i buy software, i ask the clerk to open the cd's and check to make sure that all software is contained within the package :)

that happened to me with DoD, except it was just a box, nothing in it til i got outside in the parking lot did i realize it.

they had to get it from the back both times. plus i justed wanted the game didnt notice the little rip on the plastic slip. any way im playing aND and two people accounts will be banned so hahah on them.

i had a pretty bad experience with best buy a while back and usually steer clear of them if at all possible ...

i was buying a radeon 8500 128mg vc .. got home and there was a rage 13 mg card in the box or some shit .. so i return it and they gave me shit thinking that i was trying to pull some kind of scam over on them ... i raised hell and they threatened to remove me from the store ... eventually they let me return it..

That would suck ass.

Same thing happened when the X800XTPEs first hit retail. People buy them and put 9800XTs in the box and return it for a full refund. They look almost exactly the same.

I had some dude try and scam at my work. Our manager was really busy and wouldnt answer our cashiers question about if this guy could return this harddrive with just the rebate receipet not the original...I finally went over checked the item. should have been a 200 gig 8mb cache one and it was some shity 30 gig 5400 job...

Kinda like Frys, nearly 80% of everything in stocked was returned at some point. They have a sticker saying that it was returned, but inspected by the store. They still sell them at full price too, very annoying when your mainboard is missing cables and software. Returning anything is like going through customs.

Well valve worked for 5 years on halflife 2, its the only big game release this year that wasn't warezed before it hit store shelves, theyve also disabled over 20,000 steam accounts for re oOo: ds that are actually stupid enough to try and register a warezed cd key. From a piracy point of view its had some impact at least. My steam logs in whe i start my pc so its not a big deal, its as simple as letting msn autolog in, i don't see anyone complain about that so i don't have a problem with it.
