Bought this rig on Saturday. My buddy lent me his old Dolby Pro-Logic system, but he wanted it back.

Omaha Beach in "Saving Private Ryan" is absolutely insane in Dolby Digital 5.1 on the 50" LCD screen.

You should experience SPR on my brother's Bose 701 towers and Polk surrounds. It almost sends the roof of our house into orbit! SPR is a great movie to show off a surround system for sure. rock:

I personally would of took the step up to Infinities or Polk speakers ... but leet none the less.

Yeah, I agree on the speakers, but it was the best system I could afford. Mind you, these speakers sound extremely good. I'm very pleased with it.

at least you know whats coming down the road. You are right, once kids are involved the rules change. Its surprising how many newlyweds dont have a clue. Looks like a nice system, hope you enjoy!!!

Tell me about it. $1700/month in child care. $165/wk (3yr old) + $260/wk (13mo. old). We're in that awkward position where it just barely pays for my wife to go to work, all things considered. This doesn't include 529 plans, clothes, food, diapers, etc., etc. Good thing is, once they're in school, it'll be like I got a nice raise. beer:

thats what made us decide to make my wife stay home, we were not getting ahead with her working we were just breaking even. No sense in that. Now the kids come home to thier mom and she doesnt have to bother with work outside the house. I get a clean house and dinner every night I get home rock:

Yeah me and my brother bought a panasonic 300 watt surround sound system with a built-in DVD player for 200 bucks cdn for our room from xs cargo....and we thought that was powerful setup (minus our 13" tv oOo: )...

My home theatre setup concists of a 19" monitor and Logitech Z-5300 speakers. eek:

i have a 50" RCA, but it's not widescreen or high def. just a regular rear projection, and i have a pioneer receiver with a 11 speaker setup. it's really 5.1 but i just spliced the other speakers in. definatley not the greatest setup, butit works.

Nice. We are just about done building our new house for which I had to go get a new 57" HD projection tv. Wired it for surround, data, voice and coax before they put the drywall up. Got a little crazy with the wiring - a couple thousand feet each of data and coax. I had to use a 3" pipe to bring it all in from the attic to the networkig closet. Gonna be fun terminating all those jacks.

Bingo. It does look flexed downward in the pic, though.

Nice setup Zone. I just wired my new den for 6.1 surround sound. Placed the outlet boxes where i wanted them and ran all new monster cable in the walls. I color tagged the ends and also have the Cat-5 and Coax in place. Next step is insulating the room then hanging wall board. I'll post pics later on when i see more progress.
