Ottawa Protests

Some friends and I decided to head down to Parliment Hill for the anti-bush protest and we went down to the Westin down the street where Bush was, there was atleast 100 riot police standing behind barracdes, and like 200 protesters,we where looking around and some girl grabbed me and pulled me to the gate and said "We need more people to form a line." most of the cops had paint all over their shields and masks, one cop kept filming us and I got annoyed and gave him the finger and he just grinned and nodded his head and kept filming me, one thing I saw that I didn't like was some people burning american flags annoy:

Mr.Buttocks 11-30-2004 04:56 PM

Bush is scared of "The People".

Art Attack 11-30-2004 04:57 PM

Man, where Bush was, there was the row of riot cops, then like 30 RCMP officers around, like 100 more reserve riot officers and SWAT.

Even Saddam didn't need that kind of protection. Bush is a pussy.

ninty 11-30-2004 04:59 PM

Why would you participate if you have no beef with anything? You guys just decided to go down there because you wanted to see what was going on, right? And why would you give a cop the finger? Cops are there to try to keep the peace. stupid:

I may not agree with bush's policies, but what good does starting a riot do when you message is peace?

Maplegyver 11-30-2004 05:21 PM

riot police own

Judas 11-30-2004 05:27 PM

... why the shit would "canadians" protest an american president ?

We went down to look at what was going on cuase we watched most of it o TV, so we went down for the 5 o'clock protest on the hill, plus there was lots of dope there too, I gave him the finger cuase he was filming us in the first place

Maplegyver 11-30-2004 05:56 PM

i dont think protesting solves anything, just makes us look like primitive hippy assholes

11-30-2004 06:04 PM

my grandma saw it on TV and said "damn canadians"..shes like 87 years old.

Ferich 11-30-2004 06:15 PM

Slap your grandma for me...I mean kiss.

imported_Grim_Reaper 11-30-2004 06:29 PM

i can see protesting fine, but burning american flags?! thats more of against the country than bush.... annoy:

Sirus 11-30-2004 06:39 PM

smoking dope, splashing police with paint and burning american flags really shows the message of the canadian people well eek:

ninty 11-30-2004 06:41 PM

This isn't the message of the Canadian people. This is the message of those protesting.

Jin-Roh 11-30-2004 06:41 PM

Protests are fun when you are winning and not going to jail. oOo:

What did you expect him to do with protesters? Get them squeezed together and croud surf?

Pyro 11-30-2004 07:29 PM

Bush's visit was pointless. He knew we wanted to talk about trades because hes being a dick to our country,a nd yet all he can fucking talk about is security. Fuck him.

Art Attack 11-30-2004 07:30 PM

Everyone with a job in this country was at it yesterday, not at Parliament Hill. These protesting asshats represent the hairy-legged, Phish-listening, D-average fine arts majors of Canada. Don't judge the rest of us by these fucking acid-popping granolas.

Sgt>Stackem 12-01-2004 08:58 AM

from what I saw on the news the protests were not that bad. It seemed like there was some kind of order. There is nothing wrong with protesting, just be civil. Throwing paint on the cops will not help your cause. To be truthful protesting the American President is a waste of breath, there is nothing you can do

Zoner 12-01-2004 09:19 AM

Very true. Aside from a few asshats, the protests were very mannerly.

Like him or not, funny Bush quote...
[url:12c83]http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/12/01/bush.canada/index.html[/url:12c83]

[quote:12c83]On Tuesday, Bush dismissed concerns about strained ties between the United States and Canada, thanking those Canadians who turned out to wave "with all five fingers" during his first official visit.

Arkan 12-01-2004 10:58 AM
