Help get me off the beach!
Sorry if I'm a few years behind.
So I'm playing MOA/AA and ok, I get it, our guys got pinned down on the beach in Normandy by MG fire. It sucked. Well, it sucks! I can't get my butt out of the water without being blown away (and I'm on the easy setting). I think I've exited the LC about 100 times now. I've never made it more than 10 paces past the waterline before dying. So what do i do? Duck behind a beach obstacle for 6 hours until all the MG'ers run out of ammo? Do I honestly try and return fire with a Tommy gun to silence the MG's? Or do I honestly somehow have to run up that beach alive? My 100 deaths lead me to believe that I'm probably not learning anything new as I ply this level. |
You have to run when they stop shooting at you.. Duck behind the beach obstacles every once in a while.. You cant make it up the beach with out getting hit its just not possible
also put your gun away you run faster and you dont need it |
Thanks!

also, while ur behind cover look at ur surroundings. if ur hurt, keep an eye out for medics. if they're close by make a run for'em, if not, it may not be worth it.
|
Yeah keep an eye out for medics

first try on Normandy beach?
Crazy: are you honestly saying you ran right up the beach to the shingle without any problem? You must have had a good roll of the dice in terms of the game's AI that day.

I am gonna somewhat agree with Crazy. Omaha was really easy and I managed to get up pretty easily on the first try. The hardest map for me was Trondheim and Sniper's Last Stand, or whatever the names are. oOo:
Don't run straight up, you have to strafe side to side. |
then i'm assuming both you and the other guy had the game settings at easy if u 2 made it through on ur 1st attempts.

Thanks for the help guide...and yes, it is extremely helpful.
This round is all about seeking cover, learning how to listen to bullets and noticing when these bullets are travelling elsewhere. |
is it? all i ever did during that time of the game was take cover, keep an eye out for medics and get frustrated happy:
|
I just used the classic tactic......... Run and Gun [also known as Spray and Pray].
|
lol but in that area u can run (and mostly likely die) but gunning would be useless cuz the enemy is behind cover.
|
I figured out how to quicksave and did so right after I made it as far as a medic. I learned about 3-4 ways to get past the mg32's and into the trench. Didn't really use the guide at all. Buty I gotta say that while obviously this can't ever come close to the phsicality of combat, this game really does a good job at throwing chaos and confusion at you non-stop
thanks guys |

You'll need it for Sniper's Last Stand. That frustrated the beejeebus outta me. |

Seems like all games have a level where it's just really hard to beat. I could never get passed the Stukas on Spearhead. oOo: |
I did make it past the beach, and quite far beyond. The most trouble I had was after grabbing that crappy German machine pistol in the fort (the one that came with tons of ammo). By the way, it's a crappy weapon, and if I'd had more Tommy Gun ammo, I'd have used it all the way out.
I was able to make it out of the fort itself, but getting past the open fence gate, past the three guard towers, across that field (with all the crates) and past the swarm of snow-suited soldiers and around the right-hand corner of the concrete building was virtually impossible. If you stop to snipe at the tower guards, then the soldiers from the fort run after you and shoot you in the back...Then there are the bastards in that low-level bunker (the one you can't get low enough to seek cover in...thank God it wasn't an MG nest)...I had to play so hard that my fingers bled. My only way through was to start the fort over again, kill my way out with more health points remaining. I finished the level with virtually no health left. It took me 2 hours to get across that 150 foot stretch. Of course, now I've read the help guide, and it appears that I could have easily walked across that field by simplky turning the friggin alarm off as I exfiltrated the fort. But what fun would that be? |
lol ah memories. now i feel like playing SP again :) thanx
