the greatest soundtrack

what is THE greatest movie soundtrack?

ninty 01-19-2005 05:10 PM

I just got the Garden State sound track today, and I must say it's one of the best i've heard. Every song on it is good not just one or two songs.

I also got Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack today, and its really good as well.

I was pretty fond of the Forrest Gump soundtrack when it came out. Outside of that, I did like Kill Bill Vol. 1, and GTA: Vice City dance:

I'm not a big fan of movies that employ lyrical music to try and convey their points. Words should be spoken by the actors...

That being said:

1) LOTR
2) Anything by John Williams (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc)
3) Office Space (my one exception - the music was SO extreme and out of context that it was an indispensable part of the movie)

The SPR soundrack is good if you are into orchestra music.
Some of the horror/thriller soundtracks in the past few years have been good..as long as there are some hardrock/metal songs in them.

Tripper 01-20-2005 09:52 AM

Some others I forgot...

Ghost Dog
