85 million dollars. My PC actually is so fast that the people in HL2 came to life. Gordon Freeman is a cool guy, even the G-Man is kind of nice. It also has seven jumbo fans to keep it cool. The only bad thing is it runs a little loud.

Either you;re under the assumption that a mac isn't classed as a pc (which it is) or the parents bought it for you\someone gave it to you? Anyway listing time, First pc = packardbell pulsar (pos) 333 celeron with 64 megs of ram and a 6 gig hard drive that was £1300 First upgrade for that voodoo 3 2000 pci rock: £100 Later upgraded the motherboard to a soyo syb+4 and a "flipchip" pentium 3 700 and a new case That was around £350 intel webcam £80 Bought a geforce 256 ddr £150 oOo: Traded that pos plus £80 for a voodoo 5 5500 After over a year or more with the voodoo 5 bought a geforce 2 for £150 oOo: Switched to amd platform, Abit kt7a mainboard with atlhon 1333mhz £200 Bought an ati radeon 8500le for £250 or so. 2 new hard drives, £90 Ati radeon 9500 pro £150 Pentium 4 2,8c + abit ic7 mainboard with a gig of ddr £250 Windows xp £100 Hydrocool watercooling unit £200 sennheiser headphones £50 tft monitor £180 Ati x800xt-pe £390 Grand total of £4020 or $7552 (american) $9221 (canadian) oOo: Thats not even taking into account numerous heatsinks and other things ive bought oOo: |
I never understood how people could spend so much on a computer made by compaq or packard bell. My first PC that was my own was a 486DX4 100 with 8MB of RAM in 1993-1994. I bought it at a computer show for like $1000.00 (even back then I knew not to buy retail).
I think my first upgrade was a Diamond Monster 3d video card with 4MB of RAM on it, for like $200.00!! My first actual computer was a Tandy 3 Color that I had during the 80's thanks to my mother being a computer geek in the military. I'm only 23 yet I've had computers in the household my whole life, now that I think about it I don't remember really not having a computer. Which is unusual for people born in the late 70's, early 80's. |
Packard bell was my first pc, basically bought that took it apart and learned how to make em, never again for one of those pieces of shit.
