i did an oopsies
 
yeah sorry for the gay title but i think i ripped something in my arm, it hurts when i try to extend it...it feels like a bunch of staples are in my arm and ripping the muscle...i probably hurt it from lifting weights in gym...any suggestions on what to do?

edit: oh and its been like this for 3 days straight.

exactly...kids these days dont know shit about burping the worm...You cant just attack it with your off hand and not get injured...you need to train for that shit.

start with a couple strokes a day with the off hand and slowly build up your endurance and stamina. You cant just go out and pop off a wadd right out of the box.

Same thing happen to me a while ago. I dont think you tore anything. I just remember lifting my left arm and a really painful stabbing pain shot threw it. I thought I tore it but it was just overused. Just give it rest it will heal in about a week.

Well, the bottom line is rest. Back off weight lifting and let your arm rest.
Always warm up with light weight before doing your routine....don't worry about the girls watching you warm up with their weight!

yea, i always warm up with lighter weight, then just pack on a ton. remember to stretch too, you could have just strained it too much

The same thing happened to me when I went to the gym for the first time in about a month. I just waited about 5 days, and then my arm felt fine, And next time I did the same amount, it didn't hurt for as long, only for about 2 days.

...just wait it out.

yeah i start off by benching 90lbs and curling 55lbs and work my way up..i guess its because i didnt strech or smth...btw i did my first incline bench today, at 65lbs...lol was harder than i thought...and with that little weight.

I'm sure you know this, but when you lift you're destroying muscle tissue. If you haven't been the gym in awhile, or you tried to push yourself too far in terms of weight OR reps, you could've destroyed enough muscle tissue that the healing actually becomes painful.

Don't ice it, that will make it tense up and cramp and be much worse. Also, extreme heat will make it swell cause tissue damage (not severe, but pretty much negates your workout). Just take warm baths every night and if you have a heating pad that you can control the heat on, use that as well.

yeah i think i pushed myself doing the curls, i was doing 6 sets of 10 reps of 65 lbs...and the last three sets were holding the bar with arms spread apart (making it harder)
