Before the rest of life gets on your behind, change the dimensions of the sig, 450x150 is the limit believe.

harpua 02-07-2005 08:11 PM

k
anx.

imported_Grim_Reaper 02-07-2005 08:21 PM

that is pretty big.. change the size and we'll talk

HeadUp 02-07-2005 10:43 PM

first of all its not aps its either ps or photoshop

second of all, to change the dimensions, go to image>image size and chane the height to 150 or so

finally, use a larger or softer brush to blend the two pics together

nice start bro, check out http://dafont.com/en/ for some better fonts, just dont over-do it

philadelphia killing mach 02-07-2005 11:32 PM

head up has the right idea on the gradual fade for the one on the left . looks like you used a soften the edges function which always comes out as a square if you go beyond 5-6 clicks.

try fading via a fish-eye (brighter in a circle fashion in the middle ) or fade left to right for the left hand image and right to left on the right image (both images would have a brighter part nearer the edges and faded to blend in the middle )

as for the text, you can keep it but you need at least a better font. i can't stress enough that the font (color, style and fader) sells any image no matter how bad the picture is. i can spend about ten minutes working on the image itself and sometimes up to an hour figuring out how i want the text to look. just screw around with different font types (i would suggest bank gothic md bt for your sig) and then go to color and then adding shaders and or fading.

and for the record, i don't use photosh*t software, just plain and basic ole microsoft picture it ! 2002 for all my sigs, images, textures, skins....
some people like photoshop, i don't. i enjoy 'tricking the software' into doing what i want it to do .

Haha, I think it's the software that's tricking you into thinking that you're producing good stuff.

rofl, i was thinking the same thing. Have fun with picture it dude. ban:

Zoner 02-08-2005 07:05 AM

Ok...here it is again for you b00ns:

500 > 450

200 > 150

124KB > 100KB

It's not that hard to make a sig that falls in the size regulations. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse. Change the sig or I'll smoke it.

philadelphia killing mach 02-08-2005 07:18 AM

keep thinking boys, keep thinking

Magnum 02-08-2005 10:46 AM

What are you talking about?

philadelphia killing mach 02-08-2005 11:02 AM

not talking, just helping the kid out. now go on.....have your self indulgent fun somewhere else....shoo little fly.

Wow, can't believe that you use picture it. However, I must confess that your take on Harpua's sig is better than your own, and I'm a Philly fan.

philadelphia killing mach 02-08-2005 11:10 AM

sorry photoshop addicts, i like doing the work instead of the software; if it comes out a little hard on the edges, no big deal.

tomm-o........good back handed compliment there boss lol rock:

hahaha just stfu already. I have seen your MOHAA skins and all you do is copy and paste and you call that work?

Your current sig looks like you took 2 pictures, pasted them and added text. Maybe did a little cutting. That certainly is not much "work".

oh god. please tell me you're not serious. theres really no need to come up with a witty comeback, you've done all the work for me.

a clique of photosucks adorees with an actual leader.........kinda cute.

Magnum 02-08-2005 09:06 PM

Wow, just wow. You're a non-photoshop elitist. I never saw that coming. You do realize it's the professional standard for a reason. Some of us actually use it in a professional setting and make money by using to too!

Guess what, the software doesn't do all the work. You may be shocked by this, but a lot of people have a hard time with Photoshop. There's plenty of crap out there produced in Photoshop, much of which looks a lot like your sigs actually. Let's get it straight. Your sigs are ugly, and you use your lack of Photoshop as a crutch.

elstatec 02-08-2005 09:07 PM

beer: wisely put.

guarnere 02-08-2005 10:50 PM

HA...this topic is funny...

If someone thinks there is a better art program than Photoshop...i'd love to see it...

I've been using Photoshop for years upon years now...I know it like my c0k...and thats pretty well... biggrin:

PS > ALL

k, you done ?.........how much money do you make van gogh. you're freaking cracking me up dumas (and that's dumas as in the great writer, sport), you're pissed off because i don't like your software. geek get out there, lots of people have opinions, 98% of them aren't gonna agree with you.

i'm retired and having fun doing what i do with graphics of which 99% is geared to piss people off. i get a couple requests, hell i'm happy. my kids like my work and once in awhile i get a compliment, i'm good boss . so go on and take your opinon of my graphics and shove it up your ass for all i care, spend more time trying to impress everyone else.

i have an opinion, not one given to me.

oh and harpua.........keep up the good work, i'm giving you a 9

HeadUp 02-09-2005 12:53 AM

youre entitled to your opinion pkm i respect that, and you can do some good work with the program you use

however, like mag, i do make money off of my photoshop skills and i agree with those who know how long it takes to acquire those skills...ive been workin with photoshop for 3 yrs now and i love it

anyway, i think the pkm bashing should be over, hes not the type of guy who will let up and he wont be insulted without replying (philllllllllyyyy rock: ) so lets all stop the flame war and agree to disagree

philadelphia killing mach 02-09-2005 07:16 AM

lol i'm hip with that (south street !!!!!!!!!! rock:).
start a thread just bashing me and put it in the offtopic section .
hell , i'll even sanction it; that way someone who started a thread with a real subject doesn't have to pile through a bunch of back and forth replies going back and forth to find a reply about themselves.

hell, get pyro to start it, he loves me.

but memo before you do........we used to do this on the corner of nutt and washington all day and all night when i was a kid; it was called dozens back then. two guys would step up and bust each other's balls until either you got tired of it or someone gave up. it was a good thing because the only rule was you weren't allowed to hold grudges. it was a good thing because there weren't too many fights among us on the block...........now 2nd avenue, oh we used to beat the snot out of those aholes.

i see it in lights, "PKM is an A-Hole" blink-blink blink-blink

Zoner 02-09-2005 07:17 AM

Are you guys almost done? You do realize you're fighting about PERSONAL preference, right?

I use Photoshop exclusively and I can't imagine not using it for the work I do. Does that mean that every other graphics app sucks? Not at all.

Just use what you're comfortable with. If Photoshop is too involved/complex, try Paint Shop Pro. It's not that big a deal.
