well, to make a long story short, i'll summarize. i live in Cranford NJ, and Roselle Park touches Cranford and Kenilworth. this girl was murdered by her mother with a hammer to the head while she was in her sleep. she was a year younger than my gf, so i think she was 15. my gf knew her but not well because my gf lives in Kenilworth. its a tragedy...a lot of people around here are just devastated.

they actually said the wound looked like a gunshot cuz there was just a hole from the hammer. a mother murdering her daughter with a hammer...just depressing.

When I was in high school in VA, there was this kid who we used to always pick on (daily thing) because he would try to start shit with everyone. It was pretty unbelievable, actually. So anyway, he called my buddy a racial slur which I shan't utter here (it's worse than the black tongue of Mordor, trust me) and we threw him off the bus.

According to the coroner, he, his two sisters, his infant brother and his father were all murdered about an hour later followed by his mother shooting herself in the head with a 12-gauge Kurt Cobain style.

Un-fucking-believable. To this day I still feel like shit. The last contact that kid had with the outside world was me and two other kids throwing him off a school bus. And all that time he was just crying out for help... damnit.

this isnt really about mad murders, but i was told about a book called Cipher in the Snow which is about this kid who was always looked upon as the loser in the school and the one who was left out of everything. one day it was snowing out and the kid was on his bus on his way home, and he doesnt feel good so he asks to driver to stop so he can get off. when he gets off the bus he falls down into the snow and the bus drives away. the kid ends up freezing to death after he fell. its based on a true story. all these events are tragedies.

I think you should think things through before yuo say them.

Are you going to decide who gets to have kids, and who doesn't? Or are you going to leave that up to the government?

Would you tell disabled people they can't have kids because there is a higher chance that their kid will be disabled?

Nobody has the right, in my mind, to tell anyone whether they can or can't have a family.

If you truly believe your statement, maybe you should contact your closest neo-conservative representative. I'm sure they can help you out.

I don't think he meant to say disabled people can't have kids because they might have disabled kids, ect.

I believe he meant something like if your a homicidal maniac, or have a very long history of abuse, you should at least be very closely monitored. If a guy is known to have beaten every girlriend he's ever had, has a tendancy to scream obsenities at kids in school, and in a overall "bad" guy, he shouldn't be able to have a kid just out of risk of the kids well being.

I understand the point, but I just don't believe under any circumstances anyone could say you can't have a kid, or were going to monitor you because of your past encounters. I just don't buy that.

The government doesn't give me the right to have kids, that is a choice I make because this is the way we are as humans. In my opinion, is just isn't something that you can say, you can have them, and you can't.

The rest of your argument is completly valid, it's human nature yes (Although, if it hadn't been for the formation of governments natural selection would have taken those people out of the gene pool) but the statements I quoted are a bit weird.

There's a big difference telling someone who is in the extremely likely catagory for beating their kids and wife that they shouldn't be able to have kids, and telling a completly harmless (No more harmless then you or I) person with down syndrome that he can't have a kid.

To say "Why stop there?" is to say that I, or anyone else who agrees with the original argument, actually might support that.

That's not at all true, the reasoning behind stopping people from having kids isn't to remove them from the gene pool, that's just another consequence of it, but it's intended purpose is to stop the events like noctis's and jotun's stories from ever occuring.

It's hard to honestly stand up and say that you would encourage a convicted child molester and girlfriend beater to have kids if they wanted, wouldn't you have any concern as to what might happen to the kid? You wouldn't have the same concern if you were asked if a middle class suburbian family wanted to start a family.

i'm not encouraging anyone to have kids. All i'm saying is I just don't think it's my place to tell anyone "you're not allowed to have kids"

And just beause someone has done something in the past, doens't mean they'll do it again. I acknowledge there is a higher probability it will happen, but it might not.

And I may have concerns, but this is not the issue. The issue is whether those people should be allowed to have children.

Really just boils down to you being optimistic, and me being cynical.

I think no matter what you do, whether you stop people from having kids or not, this type of shit is still gonna happen. Remember that guy in the news who killed his whole family because "God told him to"? You might be able to monitor someone who has a past with violence, but how well can you watch people who go insane after they've already had children? People are always gonna kill their families and stupid tragedies like this are always gonna happen, no matter what goes on to try to prevent it.

Obviously the mother was a little off her rocker. It sounds like the mom may have fallen on hard times. The article said that the mother and daughter moved in with the grandmother. Perhaps a spell of bad luck, financial problems, etc. left her feeling hopeless. Some parents out there feel as though if they can't provide a good life for their children, that one solution would be to kill the children so they won't have to suffer through a less than perfect childhood. oOo: Definitely not excusable, but understandable nonetheless.

Although this doesn't sound like a case of the mother being upset because of the child, you younger guys should avoid picking on the outcasts at your schools. A guy I work with has a kid in middle school who has something wrong with his legs that won't allow him to play sports or be active. Nobody's fault. However, because of his bum leg, he has become an easy target for the popular kids. Its really sad that this happens and I can see how upset and depressed his dad is about it. Makes me realize what an ass I was to some kids. I wish I could've been a nicer guy growing up.

That's the kind of shit I tend to talk about when people just make it a habit of insulting people because they are different. I enjoyed Harold and Kumar movie for that aspect when he confronted the cop and enplained why people would become cops and all the beating on the little guy type shit.

The statement:"They shouldn't have kids" is just a saying. Believe me, there are many people in this world who shouldn't be able to have kids. Ever wonder why some crack head can have a ton of kids whereas a healthy woman can't? Seems a bit unfair....ya think ??

A few years ago at my school, a rumor had been spreading about [Let's call him Tom] Tom being gay, and the one who started it (not so much intentionally) was his best friend, after a while Tom got sick of it and he ran over his best friend and killed him. I don't remember what happened to Tom, either arrested or killed himself.
