Trouble makers in schools

I didn't know where to put this thread. It's sort of about education policy, so it's going here until it's moved.

Today two idiots (could be 1) decided to pull the fire alarm twice within two periods of the day....all being lunch periods. That puts a major kill in the school day because by state law, we're required to have a certain amount of time for lunch periods and the other periods would have to be shortened to make up for the lost time.

Last week it happened 2 times in two days as well. But they did catch the person and heard that they will be expelled. Some people may think, "Oh big deal. Fire alarms are always pulled." My school has about 3100 kids in it. To evacuate all of the students and faculty and to bring the ambulences/firetrucks/cops/etc takes alot of time and money.

Last year, we had 4 bomb threats within 3 weeks. Each time, we stood outside for 2+ hours. This stuff is just rediculous.

What do you think should be done with the kids that pull the alarms or call in the bomb scare? What do you think the administration could do to prevent these things from happening?

For one thing, our fire alarms have an ink spraying system. When a person pulls the alarm, it shoots ink onto the fingers of the person so they could be identified. This can easily be side-tracked by putting on gloves or wrapping your hand in a shirt. Hell, you could probably use a pencil to push the bar down.

Tripper 04-21-2005 06:48 PM

Months of detention....Some kids seek expulsion/suspension. Parents should be billed for the cost of the Fire department call out.

Coleman 04-21-2005 07:11 PM

sad thing is most of the kids causing the trouble are on welfare. They wouldn't have the money to pay it back.

I also left out that earlier in the year, a kid brought a gun to our middle school....OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL. What the hell is going on in society to have these kids be so demented?

Whatada 04-21-2005 07:43 PM

Fire Alarm at my school can = up to $10,000 fine, and expulsion. That's tough shit for the retarded rednecks at my school, who have to use food-stamps. oOo:

That's your problem and answer there.

Crime is born out of poverty. Gangs are formed in low income places. Joblessness causes crime.

On the other hand, wealth causes crime as well. Just a different kind.

Crime and troublemaking is reduced if the slums are cleaned up and people are given a chance to become a productive part of society.

There are always exceptions. Some people will just be bad. My example is just a generalization.

yeah I totally understand what you're saying. (especially with the generalization and stuff). I do agree. There are many families that are moving to my district because they have already been expelled from New York City, Trenton, Nework, and Philly. They hook up with the Bloods and Crypts (nation wide gangs) and start trouble up here. rolleyes:

Quze 04-22-2005 06:01 PM

Don't ever remember someone pulling the fire alarm at my school.

But oh well. These "trouble makers" in your school will just end up failing at life anyways.

Trunks 04-23-2005 09:01 AM

expulsion is a bit harsh imo... They should get detention for a looong time, possibly be forced into even doing some community service, things like that.

rdeyes 04-24-2005 06:20 PM

well i dont think they should be expelled for something like pulling a fire alarm, but if you call in a bomb threat or bring a firearm to school , that should be an automatic explusion and they should also be charged and tried as an adult.

Coleman 04-24-2005 06:35 PM

i just read in the paper today that a highschool near by has banned the use of backpacks due to the amounts of bomb scares they receive. It's freaking rediculous that one or two people can affect 3 thousand kids annoy:

Short Hand 04-24-2005 07:23 PM

I would bring my backpack anyways and tell them to shove it.

Coleman 04-24-2005 07:41 PM

[quote="Short Hand":4822d]I would bring my backpack anyways and tell them to shove it.[/quote:4822d]as you get either an out of school suspension or arrested by the cops. Sad that something like that would happen.

Forte 04-24-2005 11:00 PM

yeah this shit happens a lot at our school. We have a ton of gang related violence. I overhear kids talking about what gang they joined and how they can talk to eachother anymore. oOo: . As for punishment for pulling a firealarm should be expulsion + community service.

Coleman 05-02-2005 09:35 PM

Update: Today they expelled 2 kids that pulled the fire alarms. They caught them with the video cameras, but the other one is still yet to be caught since there was no camera covering that alarm.

i knew what you were saying. still surveliance cameras in school seem weird to me. I don't think any of the schools i went to had cameras in them. the college i go to has 10,000 people and there's only 1 camera i've ever seen in the entire school.

they are around every corner in my high school

Coleman 05-02-2005 10:11 PM

yeah, it doesn't phase me b/c i've grown up with it. Actually, i'm quite happy that they have them. It reduces the drug dealing from happening everywhere to just happening in the stairwells biggrin:

But seriously, i like them so they catch stupid dipshits pulling fire alarms and getting in fights. Our locker rooms are pretty secure since we're allowed to bring our own lock for an individual locker (but you have to take it off when you leave since there's a limited amount).

Here is mein story of my friends:

Three months ago, three of my friends went to the Peach Bowl in Georgia. They did because they were in band. While they were there, one of my friends apparently pissed into a thing of milk, and he gave it to an Asian freshmen, the asian drank it. So, just recently about Thursday, they get in trouble for it, my other two friends pretty much had nothing to do with it. However, the Big, Black, Head of security has to be a fucking douche and consider it "GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION". WHich is bullshit, and I highly doubt that it's legal to do that in school. Not only that, but he the head of security lied about something to get both of my friends suspended longer, however, my friend's parents (one is a well-known lawyer) bitched the school out. So now the two friends of mine are back in school for only being suspended half a day. My friend who actually did the pissing in the bottle, is still suspended though, and they want to give him a few days in jail or 9 months community service, because he is 18 now, but was 17 at the time of the Peach Bowl. So my point: It's not just kids that are fucked up. It's the schools. oOo: rolleyes:

That's fucking disgusting. Your friends should all be expelled for not alerting anyone. The "big black head of security" was right in trying to get them suspended longer, and they're fucking cowards for not taking the punishment and getting their parents to bail them out. Pissing in some poor kids drink, what the fuck is that? Experiences like that can ruin peoples lives.

so the school is bad because it punishes asshats like you? If I were the "asian kid" Id demand your friend be tested for AIDS. I know the odds of it being transmitted in that manner are very unlikely but it is possible. Its nice to know mommy and daddy are helping you, Im sure you will learn many of lifes lessons with the parents bailing you out of all your troubles

Quze 05-03-2005 04:16 PM

So they saw it happen, but did nothing to stop it?

Jin-Roh 05-03-2005 11:32 PM

Two of my friends actually had nothing to do with it. It being the other friend pissing in the milk and giving it to the freshmen. One knew he pissed in the milk but didn't know it was given to someone to drink. THe other had nothing to do with it all. They were only accused of having to with it because they were all in the same hotel room.

One is being punished, that is fine. But it seems pathetic that they are just now doing something about it when it was three months ago and in a different state. The one being punished is in even more shit loads of trouble with the police because his car was jacked by a ... coke dealer? [...And a girl he met got kidnapped in the process...] That's what I am being told at least, and so he lied to the police. He is just one of those young adults who wants attention and wants to do the things that get girls (smoke, drink, sniff crack, piss in milk, etc). I think he wants to have sex before he graduates... =\ Lately, I have considered him a fucking idiot because he is fucking up left and right, and he is just being really irresponsible. rolleyes:

And let me emphasize one more thing: The black, RACIST head-of security LIED to get my two friends in trouble MORE.

Oh, that asian supposedly did get tested and nothing happened. oOo:

All of those trips are school sanctioned. I gurantee you that they had to sign some sort of contract that let him understand that school policy would be in affect. Why is he racist? How did you come to that conclusion? Good on him for lying, obviously if all they get is suspended even AFTER he has lied and made it seem worse, the school must have been too light on these kids - and I'm guessing because of parental intervention.

Why the hell would they piss in milk with no intention to do anything with it? "OH HEY LETS JUST PEE IN SOME MILK COOL".....and I hardly believe one kid came up with that plan - it usually takes two morons too initiate a disgusting bullying tactic such as that....

He is racist. He allows a lot of the blacks here off of punishment and stuff, and when he sees a black or mexican is on a cell phone he doesn't care, but when it's someone white, he takes it away. He is a douche and does things to get kids in trouble. [The only thing I respect him for is his interest in music.] For example: Getting on MySpace and looking to see if students drink, when he finds out, he suspends them from school. That is called entrapment. Another thing, he was caught on an answering machine when he was totally bitching out a student which is completely unnecassary, so he is getting something about that. He is supposed to get fired sometime, I think. He is black, he is racist, he is a Malcom X-type [and not a Dr. King-type].

No, it doesn't take two people to do something like that. One did it, another saw him do it. The third didn't know anything about it. They are letting the whole thing go, I think, because the one who pissed in the milk is back from suspension; however, he is in more trouble for other things. For one thing, it's not that big of a deal to drink urine, it probably wasn't even urine, if it was, it was very little. It was a one time thing so it's not that big of a deal, but that is one thing me and friends do, do stupid, mischevious shit. But most of the time it has nothing to do with other people.

Actually it is a very big deal tricking other people to drink someone elses urine. It is so unbelievebly unhealthy not to mention fucking disgusting. If I met a kid like you in person I swear to god I'd beat the fucking shit out of you. You're one of those little tossers who has avoided a good beating despite being a childish little brat.
