My very first build

Im doing my first computer build and I was just sitting in my hallway in only my boxers putting my cpu and heatsink on my motherboard. I was so scared of any static I thought it was best to put it together near anything that could not charge any static, plus I was constantly touching my case to ground myself.

Spec’s

- Intel Pentium 4 650 3.4GHz 800FSB 2MB L2 Cache LGA775

- ASUS P5AD2 Deluxe motherboard

- Corsair XMS2 DDR2 PRO w/LED TWIN-X Dual Channel Kit PC5400 1GB (2x512MB) DDR2 675MHz 4-4-4-12 TWIN2X1024-5400C4PRO

- thermalright XP-120 heatsink
- Sapphire Radeon X850XT Platinum Edition
- Antec P160 Anodized Aluminum Super Mid Tower
- (3) 120mm silentX fans
- the rest of the stuff is already on my computer that im using now until my build is finished, the only problem is that im waiting for my ram and video card, the ram should be here in a couple of days but the video card is on backorder, so who knows when I will see that.
i will have picks of my complete build went im finished

Should have gone A64. oOo:

Congrats on first build. Don't worry about static, it's over blown urban legend. Unless you are always shocking yourself when you walk around in your room, don't worry about it. I usually ground myself before starting, but never once I get into it.

I blew up a motherboard from static. Shouldn't have been messing around with it on my carpet I guess. oOo:

So you're saying you and your motherboard got freaky on your rug? you may want to rethink doing that as you'll only end up scraping circuitry, getting pubes stuck in the wiring and whilst humping, no matter how much you'd like to, NEVER blow your load in one of mothers' sockets.....
