Where's my Server???
I've got a public server that I just got running through a company
that has lousy support. But hey, they're cheap. I got the cfg file working just dandy. Map rotation, users, etc all works great. But... THE BLASTED SERVER WON'T SHOW UP ON GAMESPY!!! GRRRRR!!!!! What's up with this? Does it take 24 hours or something? The code looks right. Could it be a server-side issue? Please help, ]R[ |
From what i can remember theres a command you need to put in your server.cfg file - I think its: sv_gamespy 1 Then it takes 30 mins or so for it to show up.
|
Cool.
Yep, the command line is there. Perhaps I just need to wait the 30 min. I'll let ya know, ]R[ |
Still nothing.
This suks. |
|
My servers IP is 206.251.236.205
I'd really appreciate it if you could check it out. Thanx, Ric |
Oh, BTW...
I don't have ASE. I guess I'll be tracking down that little gem right away. Also, where might I find a GOOD example of a current Spearhead mohserver.cfg? |
Ok it's there! On ASE.
Cool. Still nothing on the GameSpy master tho. Grrrr. I don't get it. |

my gameport is 12203
gamespy port is 12300 They're telling me that it just takes a week or so before it shows up on Gamespy since it's a new server. It that right? I thought it only took like 30 minutes once the server was launched? |

They say they're working on it.
At least they're SAYING that there's a problem. GameSpy support said that it should show up almost right away. |
So...
It came up on GameSpy just a day after I was told it was being fixed. HOWEVER, Why doesn't it show up on the in game browser/serverlist??? Good Grief! |
I went and checked out your server. Besides being empty I don't like your gun mods. t least you didn't gay it uo with planes, tanks, trucks and shit. Good luck.

Wow man...
Don't hold back johnj! Tell me how you really feel. HAHAHAHA!! Dude, of course it's empty. IT'S NOT ON THE SERVER LIST! You're all over it. |

Dude I'm trying to help. I couldn't find your game in my in game browser. I haven't ever used Gamespy or ASE to find games. Empty servers tend to stay empty. I suggest that you and a buddy play some one on one and then somebody might join. beer: dance: |
Fair enough.
So anyway, it has been busy the past two weekends. I've got a few PCs here in my "playroom" and I log onto the server with two of 'em and just hang out. Seems like once the first person shows up it picks up rapidly and stays jammin for at least several hours. I'm thinkin' I would get alot more traffic if the blasted thing would show up in the game's browser. Why do you suppose it's not there? My cfg file is right. It shows up on LameSpy and ASE. ]R[ |
Everybody filters out the empty servers. It's just the way it is.
