Sound problem

Ok, I installed First to Fight, and was playing that and then I stopped playing and I turned on winamp to listen to some music and now when I play songs it sounds distorted and weird...what the hell happened? are my speakers shot? and my speakers are Creative Inspire 5.1.

Xorcist [USA] 05-08-2005 04:56 PM

sounds like a driver issue. they could have become corrupted during the install of the game. remove and reinstall your sound card drivers.

Art Attack 05-08-2005 05:00 PM

I don't think I have drivers install on my computer anymore where could I download it.

Depends on the soundcard.

someday, soldiers will be able to change the sensitivity of their arms and its like... woah... and the terrorist will say, "AIMBOTSZORZ!!@12!", then you will say, "Nah, its just my sensitivity is reallly high... like around 90, max is 100" oOo:

I downloaded the driver and tried to install it but it says there's no driver software or something found oOo: and when I reset my computer it goes away for a while.

Do you still have the orginal driver CD that came with your speakers? If so try to install that, reset your PC if it prompts you to, then go back to creatives website and give their drivers another shot.

Also your speaker set comes in diffrent versions, what is yours?

5100, 5200, 5300, 5400, Digital 5500, or Digital 5600?

Akuma 05-09-2005 03:03 PM

Speakers don't have drivers... oOo:

Try updating your soundcard drivers.

Exactly, and i have no idea how to do any of this.

Akuma 05-10-2005 04:04 AM

What's your sound card?

If you don't know, open up your case see what the speakers/sub are connnected to. If it's part of the motherboard (like up near the usb ports, kb/mouse ports, etc) then tell me what motherboard you have.

If they are connected to a card, try looking in Device Manager to see if it will tell you what sound card you have. Post it here with what operating system you use and I'll try to find your driver.

Tystnad 05-10-2005 04:16 AM

If its straight to the motherboard, its likely youve got the AC97 shit. If not, its trickier. Do as Akuma said.

Art Attack 05-10-2005 12:47 PM

I looked into Sound in Device Manager and found Legacy Audio Drivers and SoundMAX Intergrated Digital Audio.

Cant find the SoundMAX ones though..

Art Attack 05-10-2005 07:49 PM

I got some weird error when I tried to install the Legacy Audio driver.

Akuma 05-11-2005 03:57 AM

post a screenshot of the error

Art Attack 05-11-2005 12:07 PM

that was when I tried to install the Legacy driver update that Ty posted.

Akuma 05-11-2005 02:29 PM

What motherboard do you have?

or

If it's prebuilt by like Sony or Dell then what is the model number?

Art Attack 05-12-2005 12:17 PM

It's a AZEUS motherboard.

Art Attack 05-14-2005 09:10 AM
