I dont know if you guys agree with me on this but I beat the game on Hard mode about 2 days ago and i cant get over this.

How many of you agree that the snow board missions (destroying the flack guns) was extremely boring? I kept finding myself wanting to get god mode just to get it done and over with.

The Village was cool once the action begun again but man that entire snow board sucked in my opinion.

I'm still stuck on it, and i absolutly hate it

krazyklown 02-09-2002 06:28 AM

I love the whole game - stop complaining!!!!

RSM Harper 02-09-2002 06:30 AM

Yeah I also thought the snow field sucks. Not only is it a boring, pain in the ass to walk around and find the guns, it somes no matter how hard you try they always spot you first....blah. Love the Game though!

Lt_Yeager 02-09-2002 06:32 AM

I know this is going to sound dumb, but snow board? Explain which one like missions number wise. Like D-Day being 3-1.

naah, it's a good level man.

Mirage 02-09-2002 08:00 AM

Im not saying the game sucked im just saying the board sucked. Finding the guns sucked, they always spotted you before you spotted them also. Even if you "tree-jumped" i just thought that for all the action packed maps in SP they killed the rhythm of it all with the Flack-Gun map.

But no fear.... the last board was excellent except i felt it was too easy to just run up rambo style and still make it through in 1 piece.

Sh3ll_Sh0ck 02-09-2002 08:25 AM

snow board?

The only mission that managed to piss me off is the infamous *Sniper Town*.

lysis 02-09-2002 09:01 AM

ummm there are NO snowboards in this game - I don't understand what your talking about.

Dodd 02-09-2002 09:03 AM

yeah, I didn't like those first 2 levels in that mission. Not because it was hard but, imo because we played all those other great missions before, this one seemed kinda dull.

hey guys i just beat the game and i thought it was awesome now i wanna try out the mulitplayer.....i need an ip....do u guys have ne i can use or play with?

Blaster Master 02-10-2002 12:43 AM

sniper town was the best! It was so intense, and you didn't know where they were! Good times, I hate it when you only have to shoot forward because that's the only place the guys are. I thought it was sweet

Chief_Wigum 02-10-2002 01:38 AM

STOP COMPLAINING THE CAMPAIGN WAS AWESOME

jonesy-the-cat 02-10-2002 02:50 AM

I LOVED the snowy forest! The Germans DID NOT spot me first. I snuck up on them. That was the best level. Great atmosphere. When I first saw it, I thought this is the best game atmosphere I have ever seen.

Sniper town pissed me off. I thought it would be fun. Nope. You don't have a chance to play it as it was supposedly intended. After the first couple of snipers, I could never spot one before I was sniped. As soon as they are in your line of sight, they see you, even if you don't see them. They could even shoot me several times and I had no idea where it was coming from, even with the red flash on the compass. I just couldn't see the darn enemies. They could be behind foliage, etc. So annoying. My tank team had to take most of them out for me. And I was supposed to be the one protecting THEM! Poorly done level. Don't even try to tell me you saw them first. You just had to stay alive while your team did the killing.

02-10-2002 02:57 AM

i got most of the snipers but it took a long time and lots of loading. would have to sneak barely out from around corners with scope on.

Why don't you bother to acctually read the damn thread before you blurt out something stupid?

Shoegaze99 02-10-2002 04:58 AM

Shelly, the Chief and that Freakaloin character have a lot in common ... they're both incoherent twits.

Anyway, regarding the snowy forest missions: I enjoyed them. The wide-open atmosphere was a nice change of pace compared to the slow gameplay of the prior mission, or the cramped quarters of the u-boat mission, and so on.

When I played it, I sniped through a large part of it. Stuck to the very edges of the map, working from the left on the first map and the right on the second. Before I even got to the flak cannons I was able to take out all the snipers and eliminate all the machine gun emplacements while retaining 100 percent health. From there, it was easy enough to take out a few perimeter guards at the cannons before charging in guns blazing.

Sniper town: I just got done replaying sniper town tonight, and despite playing at a higher difficulty than my first time around, the going is a lot easier. Once you know the trouble spots and the best way to get around, it can be done with far less frustration. I got those first three guys you meet up with to come along to town hall, which made that fiasco a lot easier.

Regarding sniper town (first part), anybody have this experience? Immediately after the first little avenue, you turn a corner and there is a sniper up in a mill tower to your left and two guys in a little blown out building to your right. (where you complete the first objective) When I crossed into that area, three allied soldiers came out from behind some rubble; I led them to the starting point, where I had my other guys. *SIX* allied soldiers altogether, and that's before meeting with my tank squad. Sadly, I got sniped and was not able to repeat their appearance.

So, anybody? What is the trigger to bring these guys into the game? What happened?

josh88 02-10-2002 05:25 AM

Whooa...didn't see that...got my first three (the guy with smg and two with rifles) to the second portion and met up with the medic and the other guy on the second floor. I thought their was only 5. You must have triggered some surprise allied spawn. I luckily got my five to the tiger..Did you get your little bazooka-medic surprise level?...

Shoegaze99 02-10-2002 05:37 AM

No, I didn't. Remember, I somehow triggered those three allies in the first sniper town map, not the town hall map, and was killed before I could save the game with them in it.

And as far as the town hall goes, I was far less patient this time around and used more brute force than my first time through, having a full squad and all, so did not take town hall with all of my guys.

I still want to know who the hell those three allied soldiers were, however.

josh88 02-10-2002 06:09 AM

I'll be dammed..your right..Just replayed that level and "dog"ed myself and ran to that spot and..yep..their was a medic crouching behind the wall. Restarted the mission, trying to bypass any tripwire, which sets the first 3 following me..."noclip"ed myself and flew to that point and lo and behold, two soldiers crouching behind the wall... meandered back to the first three...they're still standing at the beginning..did a 180 and headed back to the other two but they were gone and no dead bodies lying around....I guess, the trick is to "quickly" dispense with the beginning snipers to be rewarded with more troops...

Mustang 02-10-2002 06:10 AM

Those guys are hiding behind the wall next to the mill.

I loved the sniper level, you have to move really slowly through it. It's like your hunting the Wehrmacht. Once you get to know generally where the sniper positions are and where they generally hide it's a blast.

As for the snow forest level, I have to admit im not a huge fan but if you move slowly enough you can spot the enemy before they see you. You do have to move very slowly and quietly and just keep on scanning every few steps. When you spot a flak gun, try to find the positions of all the guards before opening fire on them and watch out for the snipers on the tops of the hills. It can take you a while but ive gotten through that level with only 5 hits.

Mirage 02-10-2002 07:09 AM

I will agree while Snowy Forest's ambience was excellent just the whole setup kinda sucked. Oh well... And someone mentioned the Sniper Town.... That map was good but those damn snipers did end up pissing me off badly. However it did leave you feeling like you were in WWII and what the Soldiers of that war went though. Kudos to the game.

RangerOne 02-10-2002 08:27 AM

I can say that the most frustrating/aggravating missions were "Sniper's Last Stand" and "The Bridge" at the end of "The Hunt For King Tiger." The escape in the final mission wasn't exactly a walk in the park either.

With the exception of a disapointing ending, there's NOTHING boring about MOHAA!

Refresh_Deamon 02-10-2002 08:31 AM

I didd'nt like the missions where you're a loner with a silenced pistol...No one in WW2 would have been doing that...only James bond.

Lt_Yeager 02-10-2002 08:39 AM

AHHH!!! I didn't like that Sniper Town level... They would like pop up in the most indescrete places and you could barly see them. I spent like two days trying to beat it with like an hour on and off. Lots of reloading. Guess I just suck at snipering in the game... too bad.

I hate those snipers on the cliff, they always saw u 1st.

RSM Harper 02-10-2002 10:00 AM

Though it was tedious, I Loved the sniper town! The medic was great too have too http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif. I espescailly like the music for that level, with the rain and lightning, to me it set up an incredible atmosphere.

General Waffen 02-10-2002 10:34 AM

So how do you beat that mission. i cannot find the damn flak guns and on top of that the stupid germans always see me first. I try to kill them but then i realize that i am surround by 5 or 6 Germans. And to top it off i cannot see them because their stupid camo it just too good. And i am playing on hard. Overall MOHAA is superb and *sniper town* was quite hard.

josh88 02-10-2002 10:35 AM

Can you imagine the whole game have the tension of sniper town...After playing though it several times..finally became sensitized as to where they all were...and finally completing it in hard mode saving all five men (judiciously quick-saving every time I moved 10 feet)....the reward "bazooka-medic" level was neat...

Sh3ll_Sh0ck 02-10-2002 10:56 AM

I still don't see what beef you guys have with the snowy forest missions. I always ended up sneaky up on the snipers and takeing them out from behind. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/wink.gif

Oh and Sniper Town is the only level in MOHAA where I did not have fun. It was just cheap. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/mad.gif

Oddball 02-10-2002 11:37 PM

I thought the town was a stroke of genius, very authentic looking.

But that snow field map was pretty freaky, those dog that were always barking got on my nerves alot!

Wow, Shelly, as displayed in several other posts, your reading comprehension is staggeringly bad. Just amazingly poor.

For the record, when I said "Shelly, the Chief and that Freakaloin character have a lot in common ... they're both incoherent twits" I was *agreeing* with you when you called Chief Wigum to the carpet for failing to read the thread.

Did you get that, Shelly? I addressed you, and then commented about the Chief and Freak. Did you miss that?

But looking back on it, maybe your reading is more appropriate ...

Sh3ll_Sh0ck 02-11-2002 01:44 AM

Alright all is forgiven. I just figured you missed a comma after "chief". http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Shoegaze99 02-11-2002 01:49 AM

Cool, cool.

No, no gripes with you at all. And I probably have written the questionable post in a better fashion to avoid the mix up.
