This just in from the front lines…Battlefield 2 has officially gone GOLD! The game will begin shipping under the EA GAMES brand starting Tuesday, June 21, 2005.
In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, China, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game’s 30+ vehicles. Players can also hone their skills against improved enemy intelligence in the new single-player campaign before competing online with up to 64 players in some of the most intense battles on the PC.
Enhanced team play features allow players to enter the action on the front lines as part of a formal squad, or work behind the scenes in Commander Mode to direct the strategic assaults of their teammates. With the new online character ranking and persistence, players increase their rank and unlock awards, including new weapons, medals, and more.

Eh... my PC is such m4j0r 5uck4g3 that I think Im gonna be saving up for one of them Xboz 360's... I dont think I can upgrade ever again, as my vid-card slot is PCI (not express) and my Intel Celeron is incredibly out-dated. And this is our new PC, aged by two years.

The sign in my store says the 23rd.

Pentium IV 1.7GHz (Pentium IV 2GHz or Athlon XP recommended)
512 MB RAM (1GB RAM recommended)
16x DVD-ROM drive
128 MB Graphics card
DirectX 9.0b compatible sound card

My PC:
XP, P4 3.0 ghz, 1gig ddram, 52x dvd rom, ati radeon pro 128mb

But, with my AGP settings turned to 4x instead of 8x do you think it'd run ok? it kept crashing on 8x.....

If it comes out on the 23rd i can get it

Just hope this game isn't dc with a retail price slapped onto it. Dc was an ok mod but the amount of maps airpower totally assraped anything moving just got stupid. From the vids however there seems to be a lot more anti aircraft weapons, plus according to ea the heli's move slower and dont take as much of a beating as they did.

I've watched pretty much every single video released for this and as a heavy DC and BF1942 player I can tell ya this game can't fail, even if certain things are niggly (which every game is upon release) theres always going to be patches and fixes to address every single issue, plus the mods that will come of this will be fantastic. The SDK is apparently easy to use for modders and hopefully we'll see lots more come faster than in the past cool:

I jus pre-ordered it from play.com, £27.99, apparently out on the 24th June, will it arrive at my house on that day, i rarely ever pre-order so i don't know....

What I do hope is that they aren't BFV style helo physics.

Yeah im slinging in my preorder monday, seems to be DVD only this game, for europe at least not sure about america. And as far as i know we get it a few days before they do for a change. biggrin:
