In the history books and WWII memoirs i've read many soldiers hated the carbine, they were mostly carried by weapons platoons, morter men, anti-tank personnel etc., some officers in rifle companies, most are quoted as saying they would throw there carbine in a ditch the first chance they had to get an M1 or Tommy..But ive never fired one in combat so I dont know for sure...

I paid $550.00 for the Carbine at a local gun show. For some WWII trivia on the Carbine, just to let you guys know, that the Carbine was a great compromise between a pistol and a rifle...
The 101st Airborne mainly used the folding stock carbine along side their primary firearm. It would go in a little holster/cloth scabbard tied on their left or right leg...(Depending on where their hunting knife was).... If they were engineers, who had the anti-tank mines on their leg, then they would not carry the carbine... Mostly high ranking NCO/CO's would have one. The only real difference between the folding stock Carbine, and the regular M1 Carbine is that of course, the folding stock would have a railed metal fold stock, and would have the hand guard etc. ------------------ http://www.yoursighost.com/users/Syphon101st/sig1.jpg |
I would love to have a carbine in a city fight, because its super light, you have 15 bullets lol, it only shoots pistol bullets but who cares, like in SPR, where sgt horvath just picks off those nazi's on the stairs when hes in the crator when the tank is comming, anyone remember that part?
