I have been planning on doing a comic series for a while now. I finally decided to draw up the advert. today. It is going to be a weekly comic (I guess or a one time deal.). I need some writing help with it cause as many of you know... im not that funny.

anyway heres the advert.

Nice looking - But you need to have a comical story to tell, I'm afraid.

its pretty comical. Its about a group of canoers who are paddling on a river. They find a watermelon floating in an eddie. They pick it up and eat it, with one person saying they shouldnt. Later in the night The Mother Watermelon comes looking for her baby. Hilarity ensues.

you'd have to have some pretty brilliant dialogue to save that.

Gotta have a point or a punchline or something to make it worthwhile reading....

It would also help to have a specific drawing style. IE, thick character boarders, expressions, etc.

Im probably going to ditch this... I cant draw people worth a darn. However doing a series about a handgrenade and his exploits of trying to get kids to pull his pin... maybe.

as you can see I need to work on my script. heres the grenades character.

I'm afraid that plot sucks. Develop it.

Don't put any particular city, just say he heads to "the big city" and make it generic. (That is, if you want to use that horrible plot).

hrmmm. I guess I need to read up on some comic books then...

Yeah man, but read up on some short strips instead of typical superhero length comics, unless that's what you're after....

nahh im into the short strips. I read the comics in the newspaper every day. but I guess ill start reading some internet ones too.
