Your First Music

This might require some of your oldest memories but can you remember your first record/8track/cassette/cd or whatever format it was you bought? What about your first song you downloaded?

Other than the countless sesame street records and such I can remember having a Boyz II Men cassette, my first CD was The Presidents of the USA, and my first song i downloaded off Napster was Dynamite Hack - Boyz in the Hood.

Heh, look how much my taste has changed.

We had a lot of music kicking around when we were kids. I distinctly remember Irish Rovers, ABBA and Neil Diamond 8-tracks in the car.

The first cassette I ever bought for myself was Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil. I was 10.

My first CD was Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction.

I have no idea what the first song I ever downloaded was. Something fucking awesome, no doubt. biggrin:

Colonel 07-12-2005 01:13 PM

The first record I ever had was a 45 that my older sister gave me for my birthday - can't remember which one. It a Monkees record. It had "DayDream Believer" on the A Side and "Goin Down" on the B Side.

I'm not sure which LP I actually bought for myself first. I used to just listen to my sister's albums...until she started buying Lettermen albums and crap like that. Early ones that I bought included:
Mountain - Flowers of Evil
Led Zeppelin - Untitled (the album that had Stairway to Heaven on it)
Uriah Heep - Live
The Stones - Goats Head Soup
Bachman Turner Overdrive II

Tape: I got like 4 or 5 cassettes from an uncle of mine when I was like 7, one was a mix with PM Dawn, De La Soul, Ice T, Beastie Boys and some others....Then there was The Low End Theory (A Tribe Called Quest), and a couple of other mixes with random late eighties acts, and of course a Michael Jackson tape. That's what got me into hiphop.

My first CD I ever purchased was WWF The Music: Volume 4. I was such a wrestling freak back then it was awesome. I would wear Austin 3:16 shirts to school, and we would give each other Stone Cold Stunners in the gym before school started. oOo: happy: The mid 90's rocked for the WWF.
