Having launched WoW in China not very long ago they have now surpassed 1.5million subscribers in China alone. The total number of WoW subscribers is now at over 3.5 million. Put that in your calculator.

IRVINE, Calif. – July 20, 2005 – Blizzard Entertainment®, Inc. today announced that World of Warcraft®, its subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has surpassed 1.5 million paying customers in China – just a month following the game’s commercial launch on June 7, 2005. The critically acclaimed World of Warcraft has now achieved another significant milestone as the largest MMORPG in the world, with more than 3.5 million global customers.

3,500,000 X $15 = $52,500,000 every month in revenue. Although they probably charge less in China, how much is it over there?

yea the game is very addicting. i play it to much. there are days that id rather play than go outside or see my girlfriend...ok masturbate.

Too bad half of those 1.5 million still flood the US West BF2 servers.

it got old fast, had a lvl 60 and quit, mmoprg's get boring after a while

my friend got fired from Blizzard for taking the time to help customers. SWG>WoW

No matter how much you dislike WoW, how can you say SWG is better? Horrible support, shitty gameplay and not a whole lot to do in that piece of shit.

I avoid those kind of games, for fear of being addicted, which I know I will. I dont wanna turn into a fatass.

Who's your friends name? Did he make Starcraft? Just picked that up today for $10.

Civ IV and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will occupy pretty much all of my time come november. Two of the most addicting games ever for me if their predecessors are any indication.

I forgot about that game. Morrowind IS the reason I try to avoid RPG's, but occasionally, I've gotta buy one, if its groundbreaking enough (KOTOR is the other one I bought, and beyond that, nothing else...I was also addicted to that).

Jeeeeesus, I remember spending everyday coming home and loading that game up, trying to break into Vivec's palace (such a dissapointment) and desperately shooting arrows at Silt Striders and Netches. Jesus christ, was I addicted. On weekends I'd wake up early, skip breakfast, and play from 6 to 9, go out shopping with family, and when we got back, it'd be around 6, and then I'd play for another 6 hours until 12. 18 hours a weekend. ed:

That game was soooo addicting. Im hoping to god the system requirements are too high for my system, and I wont be able to buy it. I played that game for atleast three months straight, followed by a whole month of back sores.

...and thats the reason I usually play only FPS's, with the occasional RTS. Not as addicting.

Never played the game. I don't think I have ever played a MMOPRG or whatever they are.

You aren't missing much. All they do is waste loads of time, so depending on who you are that can be good or bad.

The learning curve was so huge though.. which was to much for many people, I loved all the civ titles though rock:

I can honestly say that I have never played WoW or any of it's clones and never plan to. Jesus people you know what you can do with all that time wasted in your parents basement playing those games all day and night?

i cant even stop playing those TD's and DOTA on battlenet for wc3. if i got this i would probably die of starvation happy:
