What is what canadians have said of the stanley cup winner the last 12 years biggrin:

ninty 08-07-2005 04:59 PM

that could change now that the league is actually on a level playing field.

What do you mean? Tampa Bay won it fairly; it's not like the southern teams in the NHL are that bad. They are very consistent teams.

Johnj 08-07-2005 06:52 PM

It's called sour grapes.

ninty 08-07-2005 07:52 PM

Stanley cup winning goal that was ruled inconclusive and thus didn't count:

Does a great play make a great coach?

Proteus 08-07-2005 09:07 PM

I say it was a goal, but whatever, who cares, Calgary got all they wanted out of it: Money and a fanbase.

Pyro 08-07-2005 09:10 PM

don't fucking cry...Leafs should be of won the fucker in 1993...Montreal was nothing compared to us...but a ref fucking screws us over and we lose to the fucking Kings.

The one guy denied the last chancce in history of toronto and montreal meeting in the stanley cup finals...it was funny his like anniversary game or retiring game or something was between the rangers and leafs and he apologized for fucking up.

My interpretation of the rules would call that a kick, is foot was intentionally angled to direct the puck in the net ASWELL as moving towards it, no goal.

im guessing you've never played hockey and probably dont own a pair of skates. his ankle was angled that way because thats how you stop.
im not a calgary fan btw.

ninty 08-07-2005 09:50 PM

it has to be a kicking motion. to me it was a stopping motion. he was stopping before the puck came to his skate.

calgary already had a fanbase, and they hardly made any money because of the old cba.

A team that can get 16,000+ out to every game after missing the playoffs for 7 years has a pretty good fanbase IMO.

And Pyro, all i'm looking for is the right call. The reffs probably made the right call in the game. it's hard to know if it was in or not. i'm not crying about it, although it seems like you do a whole bunch of whining in every topic.

TonyMontana 08-07-2005 09:53 PM

his foot can be angled to deflect the puck in the net. Now if he makes a kicking motion with the skate it's disallowed, but if his skate didnt move it's a goal. but since he was in motion like that it's a tough call. i wouldn't want to be a ref at that point that's for sure

Wrong good sir, been in skates since I was 3, played organized hockey for 10 years into highschool, I live in Minnesota ffs! It was delibrately directed into the net, I feel I can make that call easily BECAUSE of my hockey experience, his stop was awkwardly executed to have his right skate in the correct place and at the correct angle.

rdeyes 08-07-2005 10:39 PM

great hockey players dont always make good coaches, they might make the playoffs.

Nyck 08-08-2005 05:00 AM

Hockey will die if Phoenix ever makes it to the finals.
