Yeah this is the same vid but in high res, the cam version was really blurry at times so this obviously gives a better look at it.

I hope to god I can run this on my system. Every game out there can hardly spin it's own disk on my semen-stained-piece-of-crap.

Been no system specs released for it yet as far as i know. Graphics have been bumped up a bit from the original, plus this games using an engine built in house by infinity ward that uses direct 3d. Can't even guesstimate it because of the new engine. Doesn't seem to have ragdolls though which will take some load of the cpu. Ragdolls look ok because they can interact with shit around them but then you don't get the dramatic death animations you sorta expect with some of these games. After pacific assault attempts at ragdoll deaths which led to the enemies doing 360 spins maybe this is a good thing. dance:

I think it might run pretty well on older systems. I remember a lot of people were worried about CoD, because it did look pretty good for that year, and people could run it on high with very average systems.

The game does obviously look better, but it still looks like it will run fairly well for most people.

Here's the 11 minute video, da GervMan posted it:

It looks waaaaaaay to advanced to run on my system. PA chugged on my system like a whore, the entire game was literally in slow motion (and everything at lowest possible settings at 640x480).

Lol, looks like the minefield signs havent changed. I remember I got a whole bunch of n00by's to follow me at the minefields around Pavlovs, and we all ran into it at the same time, just to see all of us get killed at the same time.

The only thing I find strange is how incredibly shiny everything is. Uniforms, ground, helmets, everything - looks like they covered the world with Saran wrap.

Stammer 08-10-2005 10:33 PM

The game looks amazing, and I'll probally buy it anyway, but the lack of ragdolls are disapointing. Not so much the human ragdolls but weapons and objects.

Bucknub 08-10-2005 10:34 PM

looks impressive, though I dont like how the gun and arm looks from your point of veiw

How are weapons and objects meant to have ragdolls? Ragdoll refers to human models dropping dead and their bodies going limp and being able to interact with whatevers around the body so their body parts don't clip through them, or if they die on a flight of stairs they'll fall down them instead of sticking out straight. I guess you're referring to physics? If so then its possible gunfire might send shit flying etc if thats what you mean, yet to see any vids of levels that has stuff laying around that can be blown away.

Paintballr 08-10-2005 10:37 PM

Looks great cant wait. Finally a game that has added a bi-pod for the BAR. Even if its just for looks you hardly see them. And does anybody know if thats from the xbox 360 or from the PC?

Yeah its a bit stretched looking, i never noticed it first time around but it does look like the perspective is a bit long on it.

Howd the overclocking shenanigans go by the way?

Id guess xbox 360, the movements of the gun seem to be very straight horizontal most of the time instead of it kinda bouncing around a bit like we get with a mouse.

Doctor Duffy 08-10-2005 10:40 PM

I never got the whole big deal with rag-doll. It's not like you're performing autopsies or anything, you just run around and kill people - its pointless to waste time by making something the player is hardly ever going to notice.

Plus, recent rag-doll is actually even more unrealstic than bad guys dying on stairways.

I agree, plus he was sucking some major ass down there in that bunker, couldn't hit shit.

Some games its noticable and adds a lot to makeing it seem more real. The ragdolls in halflife 2 were pretty good, then again physics whoring seemed to be 99% of what made that game fun to play.

Doctor Duffy 08-10-2005 10:43 PM

Yeah, I remember it being in Doom 3 (if you managed to kill something without it turning to red dust) and had lots of fun with it, just thinking how cool it was when I shot a zombie down a staircase that his knees bent over to fit into them.... until I shot it a third time, and for whatever reason, the entire corpse exploded.

Short Hand 08-10-2005 10:44 PM

A few features which could enhance the experience.

-rag/doll (From what I hear though it will ship with ragdoll)

-damage reflection (aka if you get shot in the leg you limp, in the arm your aim gets worse, in the chest and you can not sprint anymore or even if bad enough be forced to walk.

-More realistic in game shooting feelings (which this looks to have down better then any other ww2 game to date)

-a dark mood/setting (more serious), many ww2 games make you feel like your in a 1960's ww2 flick..

-weapon jamming (funny how I haven't seen this yet)

-more interactive enviroments (should be happening in this game)

+ a ton of other things which by the looks of it will be included in the game.

America's Army has this, but it doesn't happen very often. It's more of an annoyance than a cool feature when it does happen, often happening just at the worst moment possible.

Akuma 08-11-2005 06:33 AM

Meh...

Same boring scripted gameplay as before... It'll be fun for a few hours like the original.

Doctor Duffy 08-11-2005 10:21 AM

Oh my god... that looks sooooo awesome.

Saw it on http://www.gametrailers.com ... cross between streaming and downloading.

That guy couldnt shoot for shit, but everything looked so amazing.

Seems "dumbed" down on intensity, though, ya think?

I just came to the same conclusion. I'll probally "buy" it just to see if it's worth owning.

Edit : if they don't fuck us over by not releasing an SDK and the MP is good I'll buy this game legit.

LOL

Something about CoD has always brought me back to it. It's just all the details they packed in, all those awesome battles, especially Pavlovs, that keep making me reinstall the game every couple months just to play them all over again.

I sssssssssooooooooooooooooo cant wait. I just hope it doesnt suck, being made for consoles. And I hope my system can handle it, because Im so burnt out with upgrading geek-hardware for my computer, and dont intend to ever open up that case ever again, unless to electrocute myself.

Thats the way it is with most guns IRL aswell. When in a firefight, youre pretty goddamn sure the gun will fuck up on you. annoy:
