the first guy has his own series on A&E. It's pretty cool for the few episodes I've seen so far. He does alot of Houdini like tricks. EDIT: The show is called Mind Freak


the second one is a fake quarter. You can buy it fairly cheap. It's got rubber bands around the bac of it in a small canal that is hidden from the spectator.

i feel sorry for the uninformed. I really do. I don't want to make myself sound like 'I'm smarter than all of you or anything.' Magic is really really really simple. It's all about angles, lies, and props. There are a few amazing tricks that you can do that don't require set up or anything. These guys on TV that do magic really aren't doing amazing tricks really. Anyone can do it. They are just good at making a performance out of it (but then again, 75% of magic is how you sell yourself to the audience).

ALot of times when I figure out a trick or buy one, I get really pissed off at magic in general. It's just annoying how simple most things are. Once I took the time to learn the basic moves through books and internet websites, I had an easier time figuring out different magic effects and illusions.

It's kinda like algebra. You can't do algebra without knowing your times tables. But once you have that down, it is real easy.

You assclowns know nothing. It's guys like me that know real magic and sorcerery.

it's a specially made quarter. I have the version where there's a trap door on the back that allows the cig to go all the way through. If you notice, he doesn't show both sides and when he takes out the cig, he covers it with his fingers to allow the trap door to snap back in place.


EDIT: oh sorry, i think i misread your post. If you're talking about the levitation you can levitate a few inches off the ground as an impromptu trick. It's all about angles. maybe I'll make a video later of one happy:

i saw david blane take off someones watch and put it in a display window and then grab it back, and that mind freak guy threw a deck of cards at a bus' front window and the card some chick picked was on the other side.

my buddy steve does the levitation thing reallly well. we've convinced many a drunk girl at many a drunken party that he was a decendent of moses.

I'm not totally sure. You can buy the trick offline for like $75, but I never had the money to do it. I bet it's something pretty simple since the Mind Freak dude did it impromptu style.


In regards to the high floating, David Blaine clearly edited the video. He'd do the magic trick with the few inches (the way juju showed you) and then later splice himself going feet into the air. Then the camera angle goes next to the spectators to glimpse the side of a person's leg which is usually easily replicated with a double that works for Blaine.
