HIV/AIDS - What will happen?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050811/ap_ ... iv_advance
Read the article. You kind have to wonder, what will it be like when this virus is completely destroyed and cleaned from the human species? Or what will it be like when this virus could have mutated so many times that it's really unstoppable and becomes more deadly? [First one to bring up Demolition Man Mind Secks get -1] That, and with as much as you know about the subject. When do you think (how many years) a cure will come? |
It will never be cured because the US wastes all the money on wars and space exploration...
Not to mention the banning of stem cell research..... |
Sometimes I wonder about the whole conspiracy theory that they will never release a cure because so much money is made from treatments for sickness.
|
waste money on space exploration? excuse me, that is probably the most important thing for humanity
|
Hundreds of thousands dollars of grant money go through my hands each day for AIDs research, but nothing yet rolleyes:
|
there's already a cure anyways, dont contract it. it's preventable. anyways, if all the people who died from aids were still alive, we'd still be talking about the problem of overpopulation
|
aids is by no means controling the population. It is only responsable for a small number of deaths which is nowhere enar the amount of births.
|
got some statistics to back that up?
|
kill all people infected with aids and hiv, burn their corpses and dump it on the moon
|
what exactly is the difference between hiv and aids?

I dont think they will 'cure' AIDS. They will prolly make it the next cold or flu. They will make enough medecines just enough to let you live with it. There is no money in cure, only in the treatment.

Meh, fuck AIDS. They should spend their money on curing important things like cancer or alzheimer's.
There's already a hunger problem in Africa, what happens when AIDS gets cured and the women constantly pumping out kids that constantly pump out kids don't start to die from it? |
One of my exfriends has H.I.V and fucks chicks and dont tell them, fucking loser that he is. and then some chicks know and still do him dumb cunts. all it takes is a broken rubber and your fucked.

I wish that guy was my dad. rock: |
If the human race could refrain from unprotected sex and needle sharing, we would be rid of aids in 10-15 years. I know that seems like a long time, but think about the reward.

It's unfortunate but I doubt that there will be a decent treatment for AIDs in our lifetime.
And to further clarify: HIV weakens the immune system, at the point where you have no strength a common cold could kill you. AIDs is then the next step which is almost a diffrent disease. |

AK602
[quote="Dr. Gerald Pierone Aids Research & Treatment Center of the Treasure Coast":a5bad]AK602 is a CCR5 inhibitor in very early stage development. There was a study presented at the 2004 Retrovirus conference that showed this molecule blocked CCR5 differently than other CCR5 inhibitors. Like any other agent in early stage development there are many hurdles to overcome to see if it will ever become a viable medication, time will tell.[/quote:a5bad] |

we could save billions of dollars and millions of lives if people just didn't sleep around and didn't share needles. The disease would be completely gone and at no expense to anybody.

Anyone seen the film Philadelphia? just watching that makes me want to know how the fight against HIV/AIDS is going.......one of the most moving films I've ever seen

So it would be better to let millions die than to deal with an overpopulation problem? And who said anything about God? Those are logical solutions, not biblical ones. |
Dealing with overpopulation IS letting millions of people die.
Religion holds many archaic quick-stop answers that don't do shit in reality. "God's divine plan" is not an acceptable resolution to issues. Option 1: Expand and start colonizing the fuck out of space Option 2: War/disease to keep the population down Animals are spayed and neutered or used as food. That's their population control. Humans have plagues, diseases and wars. |
there is still a lot of space left on earth, just look at a map.
|
yeah people need to stop being pussies and start living in the sahara, amazon, and siberia
|
Good idea. Who needs forests or farmland anyway?
At least the Chinese have the right idea. |
it doesn't seem that the United States needs anymore farmland, we're burning loads of crops every year. Seems to me that there are tons of rural areas that can hold a lot more people comfortably for at least the upcoming century.
