You kind have to wonder, what will it be like when this virus is completely destroyed and cleaned from the human species? Or what will it be like when this virus could have mutated so many times that it's really unstoppable and becomes more deadly? [First one to bring up Demolition Man Mind Secks get -1]

That, and with as much as you know about the subject. When do you think (how many years) a cure will come?

It will never be cured because the US wastes all the money on wars and space exploration...

Not to mention the banning of stem cell research.....

Sometimes I wonder about the whole conspiracy theory that they will never release a cure because so much money is made from treatments for sickness.

Hundreds of thousands dollars of grant money go through my hands each day for AIDs research, but nothing yet rolleyes:

there's already a cure anyways, dont contract it. it's preventable. anyways, if all the people who died from aids were still alive, we'd still be talking about the problem of overpopulation

aids is by no means controling the population. It is only responsable for a small number of deaths which is nowhere enar the amount of births.

got some statistics to back that up?

kill all people infected with aids and hiv, burn their corpses and dump it on the moon

what exactly is the difference between hiv and aids?

HIV is the virus in "hibernation". AIDS is the virus in an active form.

I dont think they will 'cure' AIDS. They will prolly make it the next cold or flu. They will make enough medecines just enough to let you live with it. There is no money in cure, only in the treatment.

Meh, fuck AIDS. They should spend their money on curing important things like cancer or alzheimer's.

agreed. I would say a good ass beating but I dont want his blood on me.

It's unfortunate but I doubt that there will be a decent treatment for AIDs in our lifetime.

And to further clarify:

HIV weakens the immune system, at the point where you have no strength a common cold could kill you. AIDs is then the next step which is almost a diffrent disease.

Dealing with overpopulation IS letting millions of people die.

Religion holds many archaic quick-stop answers that don't do shit in reality. "God's divine plan" is not an acceptable resolution to issues.

Option 1: Expand and start colonizing the fuck out of space
Option 2: War/disease to keep the population down

it doesn't seem that the United States needs anymore farmland, we're burning loads of crops every year. Seems to me that there are tons of rural areas that can hold a lot more people comfortably for at least the upcoming century.
