working out, better thyself
What do you guys do to stay in shape and get in better shape.
me, I play soccer on average 2 hours a day, take boxing on average 1 to 1 1/2per day. I do 100-150 situps/crunches when I wake up, 100-150 midday, and most of the time 60-100 before bed. 50 push ups a day. and I run 2 miles when I get time. I work in construction, if that counts... also I jump rope for 10-20 minutes (constant)a day usually when I get home. I'm getting made fast, and working on crossing it. It helps to clear my head. also I drink lots and lots of water, GALLONS a day. Gatorade when I start to get hungry. also I brush my teeth 5-6 times a day, thats flossing too. I swim, and relax in my hottub. word up so what do you do to better yyourself? |

Well, I cant handle much yet, but everyday I've been doing 1) 45 minutes of INTESITY XTREAME swimming each day (Not paddling around) 2) Walking to the fridge to grab some dill pickles 3) 40 arm crunches with a 20lb. weight, each arm 4) 40 arm raises with 20lb weight, each arm 5) 100 toesies (basically ballerina raises to tone the calfs/calves) 6) 50 squats 7) I used to do 400 situps a day on my bed, but then figured it was really helping, so now I do 200 a day on the floor - hurt much more, but better. 8) I have this little toy which you have to squeeze real hard together. It makes you grip like an ox, and I do 100 of those each arm. 9) 50 pushups - 25 in morning, 25 before bed I used to do all this stuff right before I went to bed, but kept falling asleep mid pushup, so now I do it an hour before swimming. I get it all done within 45 minutes. I drink around 9 cups of water/tea a day. And I also pig out on Chex cereal. |
i work out every other day for a couple hours, i eat pretty healthy and drink a lot of water. im fine

some weight training every other day about 4 or 5 times a week I run 3 miles in the morning 1 hour of highchops trumpet playing-->works the core/abs |
I've been really lazy these past three months, but when I get back in the groove, it's weight lifting (strength and power), rock climbing and standard SEALs pre-bud/s training for me. Nothing more to do... not that I would want to because I lack the time.

If this information helps: I'm 6'2"... 183lbs... and little more than a medium build. Takes me about two to three weeks to really get into training/excercising shtuff. (I think that's slow, huh?) |
im 20 and 6ft and weigh 173, i wrk out every other day doing cardio and weight training

I try to eat and drink healthily. I do 45mins cardio most days, but I think I have heart disease because I seem to be getting less fit. oOo: Can't do weights all that often due to a dodgy arm that's been plaguing me for the past 6 months, so I'm probably going to be a skinny sod for the rest of my existence here on planet earth.

I try to eat healthy and drink lotsa water. Just bought a leet 18L water cooler for the house.
I swim laps in the pool daily and play 2 games of softball a week. I just re-assembled my elliptical trainer too, so I'm gonna try to get my ass on that thing every day for at least 15 mins too. Middle-Aged Man: "You lookin' at my gut? I'm workin' on it!!" |
eat whatever i want in moderation, do maybe an hour or 2 of cardio every day or so, lift light weights with high reps. i say eat what you want but in moderation so you're life isn't completely a living hell by depriving yourself of what you like even though you do like 38 hours of excercise a day.

I eat a lot but its always something healthy. I usually don't grab chips, popcorn, cookies, or pop when I look for a snack. I usually eat yogurt or drink some juice. Also I do a lot of walking up and down hills all day. If I wasn't so whiped out every day from work then i'm sure i would have some motivation to work out.

I dont deprive myself of things, but I put limits on them...
... like pizza just once every one to two weeks, if Im gonna have a hamburger it'll only be one time out of the month, I'll have chocolate and candy every couple months, usually just holidays, I don't like sodas and yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. I kinda turned myself into a health nut after going on my little diet (I LOST 30 POUNDS - THANK YOU, NUTRIHEALTH!), so its kinda wierd, it's almost changed my appetite for a lot of things - like I no longer enjoy chips and pizza really isnt my favorite food anymore. I eat an awful lot, its what adds that little flab there, thats not really noticable, but still there. But the stuff I eat, even though I eat a lot of it, is always healthy - my house doesnt have anything else. I'll have Chex for one snack, a pear for another, and orange another time, occasionally some baby carrots... I hardly if ever have anything "premade" for snacking. |

i'm on the protein shakes and i'm doing everything within my power to gain weight. so far only five pounds gained, out of a proposed 20. I do a little lifting for my arms and I also walk about 3 miles a day.

You can see my heartbeat through my chest along with a good number of ribs. Yet i do a manual labor job that has me lifting 50+ pounds repeatidly for 8 hours on a bad night.

I've been lifting weights since I was about 13-14. When I started, I remember I could only bench press 125 lbs and squat about 185 lbs heh.
Stats: Height: 5'10" Weight: 187 lbs Bench: 295 lbs Squat: 480 lbs Power Clean: 305 lbs I work out 6 days a week. I mix heavy freeweights to build muscle mass, machines to reinforce the freeweights, cables to build my "cuts", and cardio on all 6 days to reduce body fat %. I do wind sprints on my cardio every 3 days or so. The other cardio days I jog with a one minute sprint at the end. I did my weight routine on a half body schedule for years when I played football, meaning I would do upper body one day, then lower the next, then upper the next etc... Now I only group my workouts. For example, I might do biceps and triceps, then back and stomach the next day, then chest and shoulders, then hamstrings and quads, etc. I always change it up every two weeks to keep my muscles stimulated. If you do the same routine week after week your muscles get used to it. I might even change up which muscle groups I'm working out together, like I might do chest and triceps one day instead of biceps and triceps. |
I dont go to the Gym, so Im kinda forced just to use what I have, which is my own body and the hardwood floor.
