video compression....isn't it encoding it or something?

ya, after recording in fraps, the videos were over a 100 MB each somtimes even 2gigs,

get this program called, virtualDub

open your videos in there, then under "video" go to compression , and find DivX and select ok, then under File, save as AVI, it will save it for like 5MB or so

my videos (recorded with fraps) always look fucking choppy... how do you make them so, well... smooth ?

wouldn't something like that depend on the hardware of your pc? fraps will record smoothly on a high end machine and the video's will look smooth. on a lower end machine the recording will end up looking laggy/choppy.

I set my resolution to 800x600 in the game. and kept everything else the same. you can try not recording sound as you do it, but either way, it didnt make a difference for me.

even at 1024x768 I got 10fps while reording, still playable though for me

what the hell? lol oOo: i took a 40MB file, used virtualDub to encode, used that video compression/divx method and the final ended up being 60MB's. eek:

hm weird, you can try fiddleing around with it, once I got it, I just did those steps and left all the settings the same. Ill look into it though

hmm under "Video" is "Full Compression Mode" ticked off?have that checked. and try again, see if it does anything ./
