The last couple of days I've been installing a phone system at the COOP in Overbrook KS.

There are two phones and two paging horns in the grain elevator.

I got to ride this cage

to install a phone and a paging horn. Which is where I took the first picture. I love my job.

Y'all still using the phones where you turn the little handle like a madman while screaming "operator operator" into it? ed:

Ha ha I install Northern Telecom Norstar systems. I did install some crank phones back in the '70s.

Cool. My dad has a company that installs phone systems as well. They work pretty close with Nextel and work around the whole PA/NY/NJ/MD area.

No I didn't. The top is just large enough for the cage to get through and the elevator operator was standing around at the bottem of the shaft. I did toss a penny off the top. I lost sight of it before it hit the ground.

Oh yea, I've worked on just about every key, hybrid, and small PBX out there and Inter-tel suck donkey balls. Horrid design, cheap phones, no tech service, IMO only Vodavi is worse.
