Yellow Screen
I was sitting here then all of a sudden my screen turns yellow. Like it gets this yellow layer over it but I can still see what I'm doing. All I had on my AIM and then it happens.
Anyone have any idea what happened and how do I change it Like can this happen if my monitor is to old? |
Monitor or G-card. Id guess monitor.

It would NOT be the monitor. MONITORS = RGB only red green and blue. It mxes these to form color etc. Yellow = not any of those.
|
Check to make sure the connection of the monitor is tight, and not loose. That will cause a color overlay if it is loose.
|
I tried tightening and that did not fix it. Shortly after posting however I had it back for a little.
Could it have anything to do with my monitor being about 2 years old? How about the fact its always on? EDIT: I changed desktops and it went back to normal. A few seconds later back to yellow. Few more seconds back to yellow. |

If the blue gun goes out what color will take over on the screen? Guess the answer |

Guess the answer[/quote:73a02] yeah well the yellow has to come from somewhere or else we wouldnt see it ... it has to be a combination of rgb / white and black, and green comes from combining blue and yellow ... so, it has to be there. its probably the blue channel - green. |

Yeah. I'd cut yer losses and cough up the $200 or so for a new one.
CRT monitors are pretty cheap these days. |
I know where to pick up a 17" monitor for $25.00 or a 15" for $10.00. Those are used. Micro-Center has remanufactured 19" name brand for $110.00.
|
Wiggle the cord with out moving the monitor and see if it changes colors. before you waste 200$, think smart be sure what it is.
|
You're monitor just pissed itself.
