Nintendo revolution controller finally shown
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3143782
Pretty friggin bizarre, looks like a remote control thats held with one hand, you plug attachments into the bottom and use them with the other hand. eek: Might look akward but could be one of those things you have to use to form an opinion on, could end up feeling pretty natural. |
wtf, thats terrible.

its a freakin remote!! get a multifunction one at wally world and program it for the game...and save $30!
|
Thats revolutionary
|
What in the fuck is that?
To me i think Nintendo just shot themselves in the foot with that idea.... Xbox360 controller (hell even the PS3 controller) > revolution controller. |

Its to bizzare for a controller gerv, its way to exotic, its like they tried to over do it. I hate remote controls as it is, the Xbox controller looks just like the original one, which was nice (the smaller version) not to mention even though the boomerang PS3 controller is ugly, it still looks just like the original.

Im gonna wait till i try this controller to pass judgement but its got me interested at least. Turned on its side its a nes joypad, the console has ports for n64\gamecube pads. It could flop but theyre at least trying something new and innovating in some way. If its a success expect ms and sony to hop on the bandwagon in a few years time like always (analogue, rumblepack etc). |
at least their thinking outside the box. eek:
|
yeah i dunno about it either ... reminds me of the goddamn old school 80s console ... cant think of the name, where you just had a pad like thing ... i think it would suck.
anyway, found these looking for that consoles name : http://www.tripletsandus.com/80s/80s_games/arcade.htm http://www.everyvideogame.com/ gerv: plzdie: |
that pic above looks a lil better. i thought it was just that control.

I thought the pad was gonna be a lcd type thing where you could program the buttons where you would like...kinda like those touch screen universal remotes.
|
Only real problem i can see with the controller is it could limit the games that are possible to be made for the console. Then again im sure theve thought of that already. Would be good for fps games like most sites are saying, but how would football games and sports game be on it. eek:
|
If they are going to make the Joystick seperate from the Buttons and such they should make the chord between them longer so you can spread out more.
|
|
Intellivisions controller was the same thing and it owned. Also, people said the same shit about the XBox controller and its still around.
|
This thing will be akward and uncomforatble to use. Nintendo fails. They should use the NINTENDO ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like something Apple would dream up. oOo: Looks strange, but I'll wait until I have held it in my urine-soaked hands before passing judgement.

Just because it's weird lookin' doesn't mean it's not functional. It might be the best controller evar. Then again, my Spidey senses are telling me I'd rather an Atari joystick. |
Nintendo have made a very odd move, moving away from the competition to create a new revolution of console gaming. I actually think it will draw ALOT of interest. They have done something different compared to having/ using a conventional controller. I'd imagine the pure interest of how this controller will work will force alot of gamers to buy the console. If correctly done I think it could be very successful upon its release.
My only fault so far is: It doesnt look very comfortable which for me at this stage is its only draw back. I'd have thought they'd have created something that you could actually wrap your hands around, maybe a handgunish shape. I'd imagine customers could have a sore hand after playing with it for 1hr+. Even with this said, there is still a year + before the console is released anywhere, I'd imagine this device is still in its very early stages. Design can be changed later on. |
|
The revolution also supports the gamecube controllers, and theres meant to be some kind of shell device you can put the new controller into so it can be used like a regular controller.

spy hunter OWNS. http://www.tripletsandus.com/80s/80s_ga ... unter2.htm |
SNES controller > all
For next generation shit i liked the N64, PS1/PS2 and Xbox S controllers. Now im happy the new Zelda is coming out for the Gamecube because im very stupid when using my left hand by itself...like if if it holding the same object as my right hand im fine...but if it is a completly different object in my left handim an idiot. |
|
this could change fps gaming alot.
|
i suppose its hard to comprehend due to the amount of buttons you would have with a normal 2 handed controller. interesting id say but id think it would be hard to play the likes of goldeneye or whatever else on it unless its a game like mario.
