thats what i think. who is going to want a 8 day trip to the station if its like an elevator? kind of cramped imo. also, what if the station has some kind of failure, like all projects do. it could crash into the earth along with the cable, or if it just sits still, the rotating earth would break the cable. not very practical, but its cool to see people coming up with ideas.
