Last day wearing glasses
 

Today is my last day i'll be wearing glasses. I get my contacts fitted tomorrow, never tried them before, so i'll prolly be fucked up all tomorrow, thinking i have sommat stuck in my eye :)

My trial lasts 2 weeks so i pay nothing for that period. I have an astimatism in my eye meaning one of my eyes is a funny shape, so i have to have special tonic lenses (which cost slightly more)

i hope i never have to wear glasses

I just went and got my eyes checked and all that and now im waiting for a week for my glasses to come in..... oOo:

Yeah, it's awkward to put them in and take them out at first. But it quickly gets easier. And don't worry about how the feel, you won't even feel them. Unless you leave them in for a long time or fall asleep with them in. Then they're uncomfortable.

before high school, i never needed glasses. freshman year i realized i couldnt see the board that well, so i got glasses. i wore them on an off till the beginning of junior year when i got my license, then i wore them all the time. and now i still do. i never thought of myself as the glasses-wearing type, kinda weird to think i do now.

ive been wearing contact lenses since i was 12. glasses are irritating, but lenses get like that, but in different ways. its more convenient to have a pair of specs on hand cause you can take them off and clean them, or just take them off if you wanna take a nap or give you eyes a rest. lens dry your eyes out sometimes after a lengthy wear. its also not a good idea to sleep with them on, so whenever you get tired, you gotta get up and go take them off. i sleep with the tv on, so its a pain to watch tv and then get up to take them off before i sleep, so i wear glasses before i sleep. when i get tired, i turn off the tv and take of the specs and take a nap. its good to have a pair of glasses and some lenses.

I prefer glasses...I don't see why people associate it with being a nerd or something...I find them more comfortable than contacts and easier to use...and i don't know I get a difference of opinion on if I look better with glasses or not from chicks...it is really close to 50-50...but all the girls I tend to like to be around are on the glasses side.

i disagree with you on every point. I love my contacts. They're so much more comfortable and look better They're easier to use.

yea i wear contatcs and i'll be getting a pair of the old school glasses when i go to basic training

I cans ee how you can think that...but I doubt anything can be easier to use then glasses as you just slide them on...it would be impossible to get contacts on quicker.

i don't even take them out happy: biggrin: It's not recommended, but I feel fine. I'll wait until I get a cataract.

I've worn glasses all my live, but before i had them paid for me (due to me being in full time education) so never really got the choice. Most of my mates will find me looking weird, cause they rarely see me without my glasses.

I suppose i probably do look better with my glasses on to my mates, cause they havent had chance to see me without them.

thanks for the headsup about keeping a pair of glasses handy mad, I'll prolly buy some new ones if i find myself using them reguarly at night. Until then i'll stick with these.

Contacts are cool, but it takes ten minutes out of your morning to clean and put them in, ten minustes I usually dont have.

I got my contacts fitted this morning. I can feel them now when im sat here, but when i start moving i cant feel them. The opticians seem to have got my right eye wrong. Its pretty blurry (I can see without it fine though), but have got my left eye pretty much spot on. I'm just going through my free trial at the moment, so in a couple of weeks im going back to get them altered if needed.

me neither, mine have been in over a week straight now. They just feel funny for 15 minutes right when I wake up, then they are back to normal.

Yeah...my friends think I look weird without my glasses...I don't know it is like I said before usually 50-50 on the topic of should I wear glasses or contacts.

Get this contact. Focus Night and Day lenses by Ciba Vision. They are absolutely superb. You can wear them for 30 days and night and even sleep in them (FDA approved). But you should take them off now and them to give your eyes some air although this contacts allow oxgyen through far better than regular contacts. I've been wearing them for a year and I have no complaints.
