Ordered a MX1000

Well after spilling beer on my trusty trackball mouse, one of its buttons has decided to give up, so i ordered a Logitech MX1000 (with the keyboard combo)

Do I need a mousepad or something or will it work fine on my desk? How much of a difference will it make compared to a normal optical mouse?

Akuma 10-02-2005 04:58 PM

Lasers are a lot more picky than optical mice when it comes to tracking, you it'll work a lot better with a mousepad.

Fuck that.

I'd take an Icemat or a Steelpad, or an eXactMat over that POS.

if you can get all the mouse buttons to work in games yet me know. I have a MX1000 too and I have tryed everything from Logigamer to UberOptions, nothing works. (im talking about the wheel side to side and the buttom above the wheel and the button below the wheel) my side buttons work and my wheel buttons work too in games.

Logigamer crashes like a mofo!

edit: I bought a mouse pad from Futureshop, its called "Allsop" its a good pad

Judas 10-03-2005 03:14 PM

func looks almost exactly like the thunderpad.

Airborne Butters 10-03-2005 05:02 PM

I got a MX500 and 5 dollar mouse pad from Staples. The thing is huge though, like 18 inch by 18 inch.

While we're on the mouse thread, anyone know where I can get replacement mouse feet? My mx500 works great and all, but the feet are causing me to lose traction and isntead of replacing the whole mouse I'd rather get feet if I can!

Nyck 10-03-2005 05:03 PM

i have a mx310! rock:

Cool Fool 10-03-2005 08:59 PM

do you have the setpoint drivers installed? It should work, I know with the old logitech drivers when I had an MX700 you had to put the forward and back buttons unassigned. but the new setpoint drivers fixed that problem.

Poseidon 10-04-2005 06:38 AM

i have the driver installed that came with it.

I have the forward and backward buttons set as the forward and backward buttons. I have tried selecting and unselecting the application specific settings, but nothing works.
