Can you kick a 50 yard field goal for a million bucks?
 

Anyone see this guy? TSN and Wendys had a contest for one person to get a chance to kick a 50 yark field goal for a million bucks and the guy made it. It was just on at half time of the Toronto/Hamilton game that is on TSN right now.

The guy missed from 20, 30 and 40 yards for small prizes. All of his kicks were a tiny bit wide right. The kick from 50 yards he nailed right down the pipes. Now the guy has a million bucks.

Yeah. Absolutley. I know for sure that I can't kick anything 50 yards. I bet 99% of the population can't kick a soccer ball or football 50 yards. I think they mentioned that field goal % for over 50 yards in the CFL this year is 7%. I doubt it's much higher in the NFL either.

my friend is a walk-on for Boston College. He's never played a game of football in his life. He pwned in soccer. Now's he is the field goal kicker on BC.

Most people who play soccer can kick a soccer ball for a 50 yard field goal, at least that was my experience in HS when we would screw around. A football, however, is a whole different animal. Very difficult.

Anyway congrats to that guy. If it were in the US, after taxes, that would be like $13,000/year.

A 50 yard field goal is kicked from the 33 yard line. 33 plus 10 yard end zone plus 7 yards from the line of scrimmage to the holder.

i hate those contests, just another corporate crap to get their name out

2004 is 53/91 which is 58% which is still pretty good.

Anyway, I can't find stats for 50+ for CFL. If the NFL is that much better...they should be. Those guys get paid millions. More power to them too. I'll watch NFL on occasion, although I can sit down and watch any CFL game any time. I love it and wouldn't change it for anything. Our kicker is a rookie this year. I think he's leading the league in %. His long is 56 I believe so i'm happy. The 56 is from the place he kicks it to the field goal posts which is on the goal line like you said.

my friend can kick a 60 yard field goal, and he kicked 3 40 yarders in a game last week. However, he plays soccer and only plays kicker on the football team (he says he rather play soccer than be a million-dollar NFL player).

last year, a senior on my highschool football team could kick a 60-70 yard fieldgoal and even did a few to win us the game in the last few secs...now taht he and the skill of our team graduated .....we suck...

My Uncle was at that game.

never kicked a football for distance rolleyes: but have kicked for soccer, i was a goalie biggrin: got it about 3/4 field on place kick, thats about 112 yards, though i know there is a big diff in weight and how ia football flies
