lol, consoles
|
According to ms this only affects 1 in 75000 consoles, how they pulled that number out of their ass im not exactly sure.
Probably badly fitted heatsinks or something causing the instability. |
why the fuk dont they just return the fuking thing to the store and get another?

Haha, sucks for them. 360 is so awesome. I've got Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2, Project Gotham 3, Madden 2k6, and I've been playing Halo 2 on it as well. It all runs like a dream.

Overheating PSUs.
|
Bad heatsinks like gerv said
|
Also been reports that people aren't giving the psu brick enough room to breath.
I don;t get it really, firstly the main reason for this brick was to make the console smaller, sizewise xbox360 isn't that much smaller than the original http://www.hardocp.com/images/articles/ ... 1_22_l.jpg theres maybe a couple of inches in it overall. The cpu has 3 cores and the heatsink covering it is liquid cooled which gives the impression it can run kind of hot. Ive read that people have stopped their consoles crashing by having the power brick suspended on string in the air ( oOo: ). Don't really understand how the brick seems to be the cause of this problem. Nearly all nintendo consoles have had a powerbrick in line on the adaptor cable and they didn't need any special air venting considerations. |

Well its safe to say sony seem to be the masters of dodgy console design, both ps1 and ps2 had issues with their optical drives, and psp had issues with its button layout, lcd quality and the disc flying out if the console got flexed.

[quote:698e7]Thus, according to German gaming site game7.de, the company has already issued a patch for the Xbox 360 software. namely for the Xbox emulator component. This patch is now available via XboxLive!.
Well, didn't take too long, did it now...[/quote:698e7] Already eek: |

what if you don't play it online? SOL?[/quote:39195] everyone gets XBOX Live! Silver that lets you download patches and shit, you just can't game until you upgrade to gold. |
well like what if you literally don't have the internet or something of that nature? You'd have to suffer for Microsofts faults and wasting 400 bucks?
|
yep.

What kind of loser doesn't have internet, and apart from that, if you can't afford internet how can you get an xbox? |

Quote:
some dont. Their parents or them could have saved up the 300-400 bucks to buy the xbox but cant afford 45 bucks a month for hispeed web and then another 80 bucks to play xboxgay live. |

Internet is not a critical part of owning a console. Microsoft are the only company out there that are issuing pc style game patches over xbox live. Now they're actually patching their consoles software. Plenty of people dont have the net, people that dont have pc's or people that have no interest in it. Not a matter of being able to afford it. |

According to ms, i usually get a console solely for the single player experience. Xbox 360 has online play etc but its pretty diluted compared to the pc's online play, cod2 for example on the 360 its a max of 8 players, with the pc its 32 or 64 i forget which. Im not bashing the console at all, i think its a pretty good platform and i enjoyed the original, just to me online on the 360 seems very basic and is like pc online was about 10 years ago. |
haahah consoles.
