Yes, it's kinda long, like 2.5 hours. It's very interesting and entertaining and also kind of saddening. I would recommend it.

c312 01-07-2006 02:52 PM

Yeah, but it's different than kong, just go see it and you'll know what I mean. (There aren't any T-Rex's so it doesn't go as fast)

geRV 01-07-2006 03:08 PM

Kong was a friggin midget in the remake. annoy: I really dunno why he got scaled down in size so much, possibly to make the t-rex fight look good and not a total walkover but he was far too small.

yeah i was like "you know what Kong isn't as big as i thought he would be" when i was watching the movie.

Machette 01-07-2006 03:36 PM

George Jonas who wrote the book "Vengeance" which the movie is based upon, says it sucks.

Still going to see it anyway, Ciarán Hinds who plays Gaius Julius Caesar on Rome, which is an awsome show, is in Munich and as an actor he is above average..

c312 01-07-2006 11:13 PM

Yeah, I have to say it was cool. It's one of those movies where you get very much into the main characters head during his internal debate over what he was doing, and it also has some covert ops stuff with explosions, so... biggrin:

It was a great film - The action sequences were highly amusing, and at times quite shocking. My favourite scene had to be in one of the missions, with the Israeli troops attacking those arab dudes incognito with automatics etc....

I also didn't feel sympathetic to either side by the end of it, although I did feel as though Spielberg kind of wanted us to feel some sadness for the Israelites...Which Is ok, I suppose - I just really didn't want it to be a one-sided film and I came out feeling as though It was done quite well.

c312 02-03-2006 07:31 PM

yeah, lots of Jews were angry because they thought it made them look bad, like they should have dealt with it in another way, or completely ignored what happened.

Judas 02-03-2006 07:42 PM

was just thinking about this after watching the movie :

i actually admire the plo and other crazy fukers like that. it says a lot about a person or persons who believe so strongly in something ( right or wrong, who the fuk am i to judge ) other than the persuit of prime time tv, audis, and a 500g house in the suburbs.

i respect what they do, even when its done against my own country. they seem like strong, driven, courageous fukers. they arent so different from any other soldier if you truly think about it without bias. their tactics are just a bit different, and motivated more by their funding than their ability.

Nyck 02-03-2006 08:36 PM

Yea people who kill innocent children and women, Hijack planes full of innocent people and murder people are someone to REALLY admire.

* The 1970 Avivim school bus massacre by PLO members, killed nine children, three adults and crippled 19.
* In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the second-largest PLO faction after al-Fatah, carried out a number of attacks and plane hijackings mostly directed at Israel, most infamously the Dawson's Field hijackings, which precipitated the Black September in Jordan crisis.
* The Munich massacre of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics was carried out by the Black September group, which was allegedly affiliated with the PLO. This group also hijacked a plane flying from Belgium to Tel Aviv.
* In 1974 members of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine carried out the Kiryat Shmona massacre at an apartment building in Israel, killing 18 people, 9 of whom were children.
* In 1974 members of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), another faction affiliated with the PLO, seized a school in Israel and killed a total of 26 students and adults and wounded over 70 in the Ma'alot massacre.

In order to settle a wrongful death lawsuit, the PLO has paid an undisclosed sum to the daughters of Leon Klinghoffer, who in 1985 was murdered aboard the cruise ship Achille Lauro during a hijacking by the Palestine Liberation Front.

Madmartagen 02-03-2006 09:39 PM

i wanna see it cause its about assassins, but since it doesnt have vin diesel or the rock, i cant get off my ass to go.

werent innocents killed in just about every military campaign in history ? War is war and people die; men, woman, and children.

its still the same thing, the tactics are just different.

Madmartagen 02-03-2006 09:44 PM

yeah but so is the intent. PLO and friends blow up kids on purpose.

They were accidental deaths like a small village in a crossfire, yea some fucked up dude in vietnam or iraq or elsewhere might be going apeshit and killing people on purpose, these fuckers purposely attacked school buses and schools for the sole purpose to terrorize and scare people.

BOTh sides played dirty.. Israel can just hide up their dirty deeds better ;).

Machette 02-04-2006 10:42 AM

Israel bombs the shit out of palestinian settlements...killing innocent people. The tactics differ.

Trunks 02-04-2006 11:44 AM

ok...lets not get into politics here guys....i have to defend Israel in enough threads and real life convo's besides having to defend it here too...sigh. However, I do agree with something that was said before.

And that was that terrorists should be looked at soldiers fighting for another cause. They should not be understimated, because they are just as willing to fight to the death as any soldier in any modern army, navy, air force, etc. In order to triumph over our enemy, we must first respect what the enemy is capable of, and the ideals that it is fighting for.

Elstatec, joke or no joke "goddanm jews" was uncalled for.

you're a dumbass. theres a difference between civilians who get caught in the crossfire between two armed opponents and an armed fiorce who targets civlians. THATS the difference between American Revolutionaries and these modern middle eastern "freedom fighters", gentlemen and pyro.

You can respect them all you want, but it doesn't make them respectable. You hit the nail on the head when you listed your pursuits of the American dream. The thing about these terrorists is that they don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. What do they have to lose? Really, not a God damned thing. Life sucks for them. Who's to blame? The easy answer is always the Jews, but the truth in recent years is slime balls like Arafat who pocketed huge amounts of money intended for the average Palestinian.
