That hospital is gonna get fucked ps: this world makes me sick |
wow, just...wow. they fucked up big time. I dont think a hospital is allowed to do soemthing that extreme without permission. Like they said, patients right to know, that includes knowing whats going to be done to them. That hospital is FUCKED.
|

If the patients life is at stake - yea they can.[/quote:4a0f8] flesh eating bacteria doesnt usually eat a person in minutes. Im sure htey had plenty of time to call the husband and explain it to him and let him make a choice. |
"The woman filed a complaint against Orlando Regional Healthcare Systems, she said, because they won't tell her exactly what happened. The hospital maintains the woman wants to know information that would violate other patients' rights."
WHAT THE FUCK! "Why did you cut my arms and legs off?" "That would violate other patients rights if I told you" |

If the patients life is at stake - yea they can.[/quote:e7010] I doubt her life was at stake at all, except for the risk of giving birth which everyone woman takes. As for the flesh eating bacteria, if she didnt notice she had it before giving birth, I have no idea how the doctors could diagnose it during the surgery. If she couldn't see it, they couldn't see it. Then it comes down to her lying and denying having it, but really knew about it. Anyway, that hospital is fucked. Holding information from a patient like that is illegal. Most people dont know, but you have every right (when you are over 18) to look at your patient chart. You might not understand it, but you have a right to look at it. |

Exactly What I was tryign to say. my parents have worked in hospitals since before I was born and My dad in the medical field since vietnam. They are not just low income gophers. My mom is the first person to perform brain surgery at the hospital she works at now. My dad helps run the Materials management section after working in the OR for years. I think in my 19 years of life I have learned quite a bit about how hospitals are run and I am constantly updated on the latest things. I know for a fact hospitals CANNOT withold any information from you that involves you the slightest. If its true that they might violate another persons rights they can simply censor the persons name and problem is solved. So and so becomes John or Jane doe and no ones rights are invaded. |
theyre stalling her cause they know theyre gonna get a lawsuit. they dont wanna admit anything. this kinda shit is scary.

[quote:e7fac]She was told she had streptococcus, a flesh eating bacteria, and toxic shock syndrome, but no further explanation was given.[/quote:e7fac]
FLESH EATING BACTERIA - amutation is normal, her life was in danger... seems like explanation enough to me... |
God that is frightening. Makes you wanna remind all the doctors if you are ever going into surgery "Don't cut me fucking arms and legs off because I know that shit happens."
Sick hypochondriacs everywhere just shit a brick. |
the truth is, they suggest when you go to get a limb removed (god forbid) that you write on the oppostie one so they dont fuck up...
like milk cartons "open other end" - "cut off other leg"... |

seems like explanation enough to me...[/quote:aa1dc] nein. She went in to be treated for complications from birth.. They have to ask permission to do anything this severe. |
dude, read the article... she went in for birth, and had to stay 12 days due to complications, they found that to be the flesh eating bacteria...
obviously they were afraid of the disease spreading, as it does... the premier of quebec had to have his eg amputated for the same reason so i dont see why they wouldnt lop some chicks off... |
How in the hell would someone get an awful disease like that.... ed:

all im saying is that id be fucking pissed off.

Shit happens. I went into surgery twice (unrelated reasons) and once left a note saying "Remove appendix ONLY. Leave all other vital organs alone" Doctor found that to be funny.
Other time was when the doctor and staff were preparing for surgery. I called everyone in the room around the operating table where i was lying and said. "Well, i hope everyone got a good nights rest .Now, do we all know why we're here today"? They all laughed and assured me i'll wake up with everything intact. |
You never woke up. This is all a dream! *dun dun dun...dramatic reverb*
Anyhow, thats pretty sick. |
I think most hospitals in the USA especially those in areas with a decent rate of poverty contain ICU's(Intensive Care Units) for things like this. Its basically like in the movies where they put the person in an air tight tent.
streptococcus; commonly called Strept Throat in the streptococcus pneumoniae form is usually a Virus that infects the Mucous glands in the mouth and throat. In very rare cases it can infect the skin, tissue, or muscle of the patient. Some and I think most forms of it have vaccines(antibiotics). http://gsbs.utmb.edu/microbook/ch013.htm |
no vaccines, but anitbiotics yes... but failing to finish the cycle can lead to worse illness that can cause heart damage or the 'flesh eating' bacteria...
