The bug can make you walk, look up, fire, switch weapons, all sorts.

What it doesn't do is make every player in your team systematically run into a single spot for a person to snipe, as the initial poster is suggesting.

If he thinks back carefully he'll probably remember that he just locked up and ran about a bit before dying, as probably he and his team mates were close to the road anyway and easy bait for any sniper at the end.

See, it doesn't seem to always affect everyone on the server, and those who are in the know also get to cancel it with the TAB key.

2015 really need to get onto this and work out why it's happening, but the very fact that the scoreboard cancels it should give them a good start to working it out.

It could still possibly be a hack I suppose, but I doubt it. I say this as in one game it happened and I was the only one running around 'cos I'd pressed the TAB key.

Spread the word. The more players who know this the better, until 2015 fix it.

I just playing what was one of the best team play matches i've b=played in a long time. All of a sudden, I lost all control and someone else would make me walk into the middle of the road where I'd get sniped. THis happened to all the allies who were playing with me. Our weapons would get discarded and we'd get walked to the middle so some other guy could snipe us. Has anyone else had this happen? I wish people would just get some talent and not have to rely on cheating!

i've had something similar

whenever we aimed at the guy our view would get locked looking straight up or straight down and firing. one time it switched to grenades http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/frown.gif

ive done research but havent been able to find anything about it.

I've had my weapons discarded before but I just marked it down to lag. You really think it was a cheat? Why don't those limp-dicked cheaters just spend time practicing and get better like the rest of us?

That's why I hate public MP games. Way to many cheaters out there.

it wasn't lag. it only happened when we shot the guy and to whoever shot him.

What are the alternatives to public mp games Mackey? I would be interested in non-cheater games.

It wasn't lag. The pings were all below 200 and it was just too well run. We'd chuck our weapons and walk out to get shot. This would repeat over and over.

I've had that happen to me before, and I too got the feeling that someone was making us drop our weapons via a cheat.

Same happened to me... yesterday morning I was in an omaha game... I was a sniper and whenever I aimed at a certain person my sniper rifle would look straight up and fire a shot... and I didn't hit anything it just did that... i think someone is hacking or changing some server shit... and like on another game I joined I would shoot and unload a clip on him but for somereason it seemed that my bullets would miss him...then he would kill me in like 2 seconds when he shot back at me... later I asked what was up and they said they had a mod that increases the axis accuracy and decreases the allied accuracy on weapons... a lot of strange cheats going around in 1.1... http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/frown.gif

Actually, this isn't a cheat at all.

It's not lag, either.

It's just a bug and you can disable it quite easilly, if you know how, so it may appear to some that others are using it as a cheat.

This is how you disable this bug

The moment you start to shake/drop weapons/run stupid/chuck grenades like that hit TAB, or whatever key you have set to multiplayer scores.

It will instantly clear this bug.

I always try to broadcast this as much as possible on public servers as it looks like you cheat if you can kill others while they are caught in this bug.

Trust me, use TAB to clear the bug.

Yepp its a bug, don't think this is a cheat.

Whenever it happens to me i'd just hit one of the texmsg-keys and just blur out something, hit enter and then it goes away.

IT is absolutely positively a cheat. How do I know? Because it was admitted to us in a game on Fragpuppy's T1. Everytime we shot and killed this one player all of us would point our weapons to the ground and start firing. He thought it was funny.. so yes it is a cheat, it is not a bug.....


cheat/hack whatever word you prefer.... if it manipultaes the game it's a cheat in my opinion

It happened to me on crossroads just yesterday.I walked into the street and was shot by a sniper. And I'm tell you I was not in control!! This made me wonder if I was the only one it happened too. I guess not. Down with cheats!

I believe its a bug. It happened 3 times to me in SP. Suddenly, my right straf key was locked and I got uncovered. I had to hit my "lock run/walk" key couple of times and it stopped. I always do this when i begin to move in a direction. As for when you shoot and the other don't die, must be another bug with data exchange. Sometimes, i snipe 2 to 3 times in the head and the player kill me in 2 seconds after he found where i was. First i though it was cheat but the next time it happened with other players, i discovered that this player got killed easily by a member of my team.

Cheat or bug, who cares? Cancel it with Tab and be happy.

It's up to 2015 to sort it out, I just hope they know about it.

Oh and I doubt Tasselhoff is cheating because he says it's a bug. I certainly am not cheating 'cos I give out the fix freely.

Soon as you lock up hit tab and let everyone else know asap, be it in spec mode when yer dead, or just when the round restarts.

I don't get much satisfaction out of killing someone who is locked by a bug in the code.

I keep saying 'bug' because I never cry 'cheat' until I see it working for myself.

If someone claims they are using it as a cheat tell them to do it on demand... you'll soon see if they're telling the truth or not.

Well I'm not sure whether it was the bug or a cheat. However, I am bothered by what some have said about people getting your ip and being able to mess with your computer. That is totally messed up. Wouldn't it be great if you could play a MP game without having to worry about hackers trying to get into your sytstem?
