What country has the best food?
What country that you visited / live in has (in your opinion) the best food?
Personally, out of all the places I've been to, Rhodes and Turkey had the freshest, most delicious food I've ever had. All the food was fresh-picked and crisp, and I don't think I ate one thing that I didn't like while I was there. Discuss. |

Maybe you ahve been to a real chinese food resturant, as I have for chinese new year. Things on the menu are shark soup, fish head, and these fucking gross crunchy/soft squiggly things that I had no idea what they were. My family ate at City Wok in Palm Springs for like 4 out of 7 days a while back because it was so good, but thats the kind of chinese food were used to. Food in Quebec City was pretty good. I haven't been around enough contries though. |
Id say American because its combined food from all cultures

Can't really judge food when eaten in your own country if you know what I mean, best and only way in my opinion is to go to a country and eat their traditional dishes the way they're supposed to be served/made.
To be honest I haven't been to places like Italy, India or Japan yet so I can't really comment but those are the places I'd LOVE to sample the foods and culture.......and ladiez... All I can say is that I'm always happy with various Indian and Italian cuisines tho some dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala was invented in Britain, which strangely is the nations fave dish. Dats right, no more thinkin that Fish 'n' Chips is the most popular brit food, its officially Indian food! Fookin lush! rock: |

Take a wild fuckin guess.
Yeah that's right assholes, Italy. I'm a bit embarassed to admit it, but I actually like Northern Italian cuisine more than Southern cuisine. Somewhere my grandmother is rolling over in her grave. Anyways, Southern Italy has great seafood dishes, of which I'm not a particularly big fan. I prefer the more meaty Northern dishes; proscuitto, veal, Bolognese sauce and the like. Northern Italy is also famous for balsamic vinegar and pesto sauce. |

I've got those in my back yard every year. I don't have to travel to Turkey for a fresh tomato. oOo: If that's what's blowing your mind about Turkish food then I guess I'm not missing much. America! Doesn't get much better than Ruth's Chris or Morton's. |

Well i'd say there's nothing quite like a full english breakfast with a cuppa but it's not exactly healthy to have a fry up every day & the only other good food here is roast beef & steak pie etc. I'd say Italy is the best place for food, pizza, lasagne, pasta! rock:

Havent traversed the globe too well, but i went to Italy and that was by far the best food i have ever eaten.

best curry - scotland...

Pizza as we know it originated in Italy.
Hamburgers as we know them were made in America, but people ate hamburger meat shaped into steak forms in Germany before the bun was added, and I think people in mongolia ate something similar even before that. America has the best food because people can make a lot of money at nice restaurants from it. The food might not be unique to America, but there are tons of excellent places to get money here so many cultures bring food here and it's easy to find excellent food from any country. I had some awesome Ethiopian food in DC a month ago. DC alone has several fine examples of any kind of food you could ever want |
