Seems i've been buying one every week. Just picked up "NFS Most Wanted". D/loading the patch as i write this.

Saw "Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood" at BB. Anyone play this game? Wanted to pick it up but wasn't sure about it. I want a good single player game (unlike BF2 which has no "offline" single player missions)

Some others i recently picked up:
BF2
COD2
MOH (had a bootlegged version)
Half Life (saw the original and had to have it for nostalgic reasons)

Want to get:
Fear
...and perhaps Brothers in Arms if you guys say it's worth it.

The first brothers in arms was shite, was marketed to be this game that was all about tactics, all you could do was fucking flank oOo: The enemies were meant to be able to counter your flanking, but it seemed they could only move in a very small area around where they were spawned. Seen plenty of enemeis "taking cover" and half of their bodies was still sticking out from behind the cover making for an easy kill.

I dloaded earned in blood, after 5 mins concluded it was the same shit and gleefully deleted it.

I bought fear, havn't really got into it, kinda freaky in some parts and my machine does fuck all but chug when im playing it. loney:

Fear is sweet, BiA is fucking shit.

I havent played any pc games lately though

Same card x800xt with a p4 4ghz. Its chuging cause ive only a gig of ram.

i played it alright with 512RAM and a 6800, although you are probably playing it as super high settings, i play at medium settings.

In fear i had it set to 1280x1024 with shadows off, xfsaa, still got chugging or some reason.

In bf2 flying a plane at these setings is torture, usually ill be chuging along and the game will freeze up a bit then next thing is im looking at the ground while being 3 fet away from it. loney:

if you didnt like the first bia you wont like this one ... i didnt like either and didnt finish fear.

i have my settings maxed and that same res gerv in fear i think, and it lags sometimes but rarely.

Fear kicks ass. The single player is the best i've ever seen. and the multiplayer is even really good.

I got FEAR shortly after it came out and I just realized I haven't finished single player yet. Maybe I should do that.

I thought brothers in arms was good for a console game... It was obviously a made-for-xbox game, so it can't really stand up to any other good PC game out there (as it got dumbed down when they brought it to PC). It was pretty fun though, and original/different as far as WWII shooters go (the first semi-realistic one compared to COD/MOH), though people seem to be divided 50/50 as those who like it, and those who don't.

It was worth a rent, IMO. I suggest dl'ing it first to try.

Dont fear what these homo say. You can enjoy and play a game without super fucking max settings. I played it on 1024x768 with med-high details with no slow down or chugging at all.

Well, my Radeon 9000 64Mb wouldnt play unless EVERYTHING was on low, so that meant there we no shadows, so every room looked like it had 100 lights on. Really ruined the game. cuss:

What kinda FPS do/did you get in CoD2 (Particularly a map like Brecourt)?

I switched from dx9 to dx7 i think in the settings and you get a ton more fps without much loss in quality because you can pump your details up to max

I get between 80-100ish
