You should pick up Jak and Daxter, and Jakk 2. Also consider getting MGS, MGS2, and MGS3, but play them in this order: MGS3, MGS1, MGS2.

I actually checked out some MGS games but passed because I really wanted god of war.

I'm almost done with RE4 Im on level 5-4 after defeating my "comrade"

Chronic Diarrhea 05-13-2006 11:40 PM

Yeah God of War is a great game.

I'm probably going to go buy MLB 06 now that finals are over with.

p.s. Nyck what difficulty are you playing on? 13-14 sounds pretty realistic considering you're the Phillies.

Hall of Fame(highest setting) settings that I got from a site, ups the hitting for you and the cpu but my games are pretty realistic. there will be some great close games, some blow outs and some average 4-1, 6-4 type games

God of War is fucking great. Definitely one of the best PS2 games ever. Although, you should also check out Shadow of the Colossus. Kingdom Hearts...you'll like it, if you like RPG's, and Disney characters/worlds/story lines. If you do find yourself enjoying it, I recommend you buy the second game also. Although, both games are pretty damn repetitive.

I bought it for about that price. I returned it the next day. I appreciated the concept, and some of the battles are cool, but it all boils down to the same thing over and over, and it's way too damn easy. I beat 12 out of the 16 colossi in 4 hours, and then I took it back the next day.

If you want to experience something different and want a unique movie-like showcase during the battles, then get it. If you're looking for something that has a lot of replay value and will keep you interested for weeks, then don't get it. Of course that is my opinion, but for a game that was rated so high, I was very dissapointed.

Nyck 05-14-2006 09:47 PM

w00t Beat RE4 tonight. What a great storyline, now I have all the bonus games to try out.

ps.. LOL @ dying 5 times playing "jet moto" at the end

Michael 05-14-2006 11:49 PM

Nyck! Don't try playing RE4 in Professional mode. oOo: Trust me.

Chronic Diarrhea 05-15-2006 12:22 AM

Well, I bought MLB 06, and I just finished playing my first game. I lost 7-6, and I blew it in the bottom of the 9th. I hit my first home run at my 3rd at bat, which was probably just pure luck, but then I hit another one. The pitching speed and breaks feel really authentic, probably the best of any baseball game I've played.

ya great game, i never beat the game again playing the girl I just ended up taking a break, a long break.

My roomate has bought Shadow of the Colossus and felt the same way about it that chronic diarrhea has. Nyck if you havnt played killzone I would definitley recommend it, great game.

elstatec 05-15-2006 02:31 AM

god of war very decent, kingdon of hearts fucken gay.

complete re4 in expert and you will open up a very decent gun.

Tystnad 05-15-2006 05:50 AM

Kingdom Hearts is a rather kiddielike, but its got a great storyline, good fightsystems and neat characters and all. A really good RPG, with lots of stuff to do.

I got rid of the guess pitch option and lock in area and kept strikezone and hot zone basically for my own pitching good(which doesnt really help)

Tip: hardly use the power swing. I use primarily the normal X button swing and hit enough HRs. I only use the power swing if I KNOW a fastball is coming(2-0, 3-1 counts)

05-15-2006 04:06 PM

someone mentioned killzone, but i recommend KillSwitch over it. Its a better game, and it is MGS-like.

MGS 3 IMO, has a great storyline, but the gameplay mechanics feel outdated if youve played a game like pandora tommorrow. Not trying to start a war here, just wat i observed. Still worth getting. I also reccomend getting/renting devil may cry 3 if you are into hardcore action games, know in advance that it is a more hard core action experiene then GOW. You can get both versions relatively cheap, but the special edition has some bonus content, and has lots of options geared towards newbies of the series, to make the game easier. Also, like it or not, the PS2 has a huge selection of RPG's, I know lots of older gamers don't like em, but if you give em a chance you may be surprised. They also tend to have deeper storylines, but its not everyone's cup of tea. i also reccomend the ace combat series, if you like arcadey aircplane shooters.

omg, jet moto is otd... haven't played that game since 1999 on PSX. I guess the RE4 "jet moto" is different from the original motercycle game, though..

I started by using the guess pitch on every pitch, but somebody told me if you guess wrong it's hard to hit it well, so I only use it on those same 2-0 or 3-1 counts. I've only used the power swing once.

The only thing that confuses me is you can use the R analog stick to direct your swing, but you can also use the L analog stick to do something similar to that?

I didnt even realize about the right analog when I 1st started.

Right analog you only have to hit in a direction once. Left to try and hit it opposite field, right to pull the ball, up to get under the pitch and try and lift it and down to hit a grounder.

You use the left analog to aim your bat in the direction the ball is going. That you have to hold in that direction to aim there. ie down and away. inside, up and in, down and in..etc

Chronic Diarrhea 05-15-2006 11:40 PM

Oh, ok. I was thinking you had to hold down the R stick while hitting X. I knew that sounded really stupid, since you'd have to have octopus hands to do that.

P.S. They made Ortiz a fucking beast in this game.

Nyck 05-18-2006 10:51 PM

finally got around to trying out god of war and it is pretty frickin bad ass.

I completed the 1st level and I love the mechanics of the game(though it does sometimes feel like button mashing, but the cut scenes, mini combo games during huge boss battles are pretty cool.

ps ROFL @ a couple of huge tittied nude girls in your bed and then playing the menage trois mini game with them

gtboys34 05-18-2006 11:01 PM

yeah i wanna play that one too. how much was it?

I bought it used for 17.99 brand new it is 19.99.

Only reason i bought it used is that if I didnt like it, I could return it in a week for money back or dif game and I get a 30 day warranty thru gamestop

Bucknub 05-18-2006 11:03 PM

I beat that game in like 4 days.... it was really cool while it lasted. I then traded it back in and got store credit at which point Brother in arms came out, so I then got that, which was a huge mistake, seeing as it didnt even run smoothly on my PC... so I took that POS back and got store credit.... then waited a few weeks and then bought BF2 with it.

gtboys34 05-18-2006 11:08 PM

ok. I hear ya on that week return thing. I bought halo 2 a while back at Gs for 44.00 bucks and attempted to beat it within a week and failed. I had my receipt literally a minute before a i left out to trade it in BUT I SWEAR TO YOU NOT... that damn thing vanished! I couldn't find it for shit. I tore up my house looking for it but could NOT FIND THE THING. That was probaly the most angriest * i've gotten in a hella long time man. Well anyways, i went and traded it in and only got 12 bucks for it cuss: . I should've went on ebay but i didnt have internet access at the time. But you learn from your mistakes though..

Nyck 05-18-2006 11:14 PM

Yea well I just started god of war and havent even opened kingdom hearts yet so I doubt I will be using that 7 day return feature.

Chronic Diarrhea 05-19-2006 12:37 AM

Cool, you'll like it.

As for MLB 06, I started a career a few days ago. I signed on with the Reds, and I just got called up (which isn't too difficult to do, considering Griffey and Adam Dunn are the only two good players on the team). Dunn already has 40 HRs and it's only about 10-15 games after the all-star break.
